[TT] Changes in the Revolutionary Committee

Day 3,688, 23:47 Published in USA USA by Leon Gutierrez

Greetings everyone, this article will be discussing a recent constitutional discussion that deals with Revolutionary Committe and as the proponent of the proposal, I would like to express how it will aim to work for the present, to then be voted on at a later date to see if it is how it should work in the future.

Here is what is documented to change, along with when the vote took place and how many voted. My aim of the proposal was to make a new precedent that all members and aspiring members of the Revolutionary Committee, whether they are non-voting or voting members, are expected to be contributing to an active task or campaign within the party. These tasks or campaigns are divided up into three key categories that are mentioned as individual sections of part IV of the SFP constitution which are the Economic, Domestic and International affairs of the party.

Originally in the older version of the SFP Constitution back in 2011, this proposed section was actually in the constitution but was ratified out. Therefore this proposal is to revert that and to bring that portion of the constitution back, which will tie in and serve as an example as to what the expectation and responsibilities of the RC will be in order to actively contribute to the areas of Economic, Domestic and International affairs, as they are outlined in Part IV of the SFP Constitution.
Before:

Section 6: Roles and Projects

1. All Party members can play a role as a Volunteer on any Party program, campaign or task.

2. It is the responsibility of the Revolutionary Committee to ensure that the Party is actively engaged in eRep affairs. This does not mean that only RC members can play a leading role, nor that only RC members must carry out all tasks.

After:

Section 6: Roles and Projects

1. All Party members can play a role as a Volunteer on any Party program, campaign or task.

2. It is the responsibility of the Revolutionary Committee to ensure that the Party is actively engaged in eRep affairs. This does not mean that only RC members can play a leading role, nor that only RC members must carry out all tasks.

3. It is the responsibility of the Chair of the RC to ensure that the Party has at least one active project or campaign in each of the following general areas of interest: Domestic Policy, International Policy and Economics.

4. At least one member of the RC, or other Volunteer, should have responsibility for directing one or more activities in each of these areas.

5. Each member of the RC, or other Volunteer, should have responsibility for a particular task or effort, whether it is a short-term goal or part of a longer-term campaign or project.

6. The following are suggestions or guides as to what would define the Domestic, International Policy and Economics but are not required to be nor limited to be as follows:

6a. RC Members and Volunteers with responsibility for Domestic work propose and lead work with respect to recruitment and mentoring, elections to Congress, participation in the Executive, relations with other eUSA parties and militias, and domestic media and public relations.

6b. RC Members and Volunteers with responsibility for International policy should propose and lead work with respect to participation in the Internationale and the International Brigades, relations with parties and militias outside of the eUSA, the Party's militia participation in wars and battles, sending Party members abroad to work with other groups, and international public relations.

6c. RC Members and Volunteers with responsibility for Economic policy should propose and lead work with respect to managing and directing the SFP Commune co-ops and communes, recommending economic policy initiatives to SFP Congress members, developing and promoting ideas for an anarcho-socialist political economy, promoting collaboration between communes and co-ops domestically and internationally, and generally promoting social well-being and economic security.

The forum vote was 11 yeas - 0 nays 12.24.2017 00:57:33

The ratified proposal will be on a "Trial-run" for the next 15 days, in order to see how it well it goes and if/or needs refinement in order to be an official constitutional amendment. After the 15 days pass, the party will be asked to participate in the upcoming vote and discussion that will be deciding if the proposal is to become ratified.

Hopefully this serves as an expectation that within the revolutionary committee, it is not simply a place of "elites" that speak quietly in an in-game thread but are party members whom have stepped up to become involved in actively contributing to the development of the Socialist Freedom Party, that when one joins the revolutionary committee, one should expect to work for the duration of their term much more-so in party activities. The take away is that the Revolutionary Committee must actively be engaged and lead by-example.

Until next time
