[TT] A One Big Union idea - need your help
Leon Gutierrez
This article is going to act as a recruitment call for an idea I've been trying to develop from here on out. The idea is based off of the old cadre ideas, but due to a lot of reflection on the process of how that is going, I realized there had to be some twist and turns that somewhat deviated a bit from the original reason. Thus, I realized from there, something else could be made and from that I have put together the idea of a One Big Union for all whom were interested in joining and participating in the SFP Cadres.
The One Big Union
At the end of the day, the "cadres" (explained in a previous article) are composed of producers whom are helping their workers (who may be producers too), become less alienated, more involved, exposed to SFP and help fund it's activity. Given the recent issues regard work tax, and how it's been affecting some of our comrades (such as closing their companies), I find these type of issues could affect the success of our cadres, so I thought perhaps forming a "union" of cadres per industry would be something to consider to mitigate what may happen from the economy that could be stopping our cadres from going. Lastly, each of these unions can collaborate with each other, if there are comrades whom have no workers but have a lot of RMs (raw materials), they can give it to comrade within the same industry who actually needs it and will reduce their cost of supplies allowing them to maintain their workers at a certain wage set by the union congress.
My idea is henceforth: I am thinking what are people's thoughts on using a "One Big Union" approach, that is the idea of industrial unionism but a-la eRepublik. Since we do not have "skills" anymore we are left with simply industries, so I thought it would perhaps be a good starting point to start with. The term "industrial union" is it,s a union of cadres of different industries. Since, The skills component got removed after v1, terminology-wise, a "trade union" made no sense. So I am using the RL word to an eRepublik style of economics, where industries provide goodies and people who work in industries sell them, and these cadres are made up of workers and produces working for the same industry.
The objective is to :
-Be able to provide a cheaper avenue of goods for more players to enjoy to help aid more citizens of the eUSA. We could do this through the collaboration of all cadres, we can help determine the minimum on the market to sell our goods to ensure more players can buy it up or at the least; ideally be able to buy more of goods, as well as providing an organized distribution of our production to party programs or efforts, denying the wealthy from determining the market standards and hampering further exploitation of their workers.
- Be able to raise funds for the SFP Treasurey
- Organize all the cadre holdings, to make sure each cadre is able to continue on the goals of above point, also to make sure each cadre is producing a fair wage to workers, helping them grow by assisting them with information that could help them (like daily supplies) and expanding the SFP's influence to all working players.

A One Big Union?
So where does this leave my readers? If you are interested, then I'd like your input on this! I am looking for more feedback and those interested in actually being in these organs when the day comes where it begins. If you are interested, join the SFP and voice your opinion in that thread, and/or leave comments below!

How much do we have in the treasury?
That's not receiving treasury funds. We have about 400 grand.
Did you say break the chains?
this is an interesting idea
im not sure how cadres can determine the minimum prices in the market though,
unless there are cadres on an international scale. that way only a few producers would have to have selling licences or be based in the other countries, and they can get the best prices for everyone's goods globally. i know a lot of people want SFP to be more internationally focused so this could work out
also it would be good for noobs like me who have small scale operations with good wages that dont make much profit 🙂
This is good to consider, perhaps in the thread I can address it or maybe another comrade here can!
good article

An industry union is historically called a "cartel" and it usually results in prices being kept high for the benefit of the industry owners at the expense of the consumer through artificial scarcity.
Last time the USA had this was in the 1930s. Guess what followed immediately as a cause of such policies 😛
You're all using this term "comrade". I don't think it means what you think it does 😃
/signed - a real socialist IRL
From the Spanish "camarada", right...meaning, those who share a bed? 🙂
Among other things. The USSR "communists" ( and I use the term loosely as possible ) used this mockery of the term.
Using it is not really something to be proud tbh.
Well, this will be the opposite of the cartel. Going to use it to keep prices low. Join us, comrade.
Prices will stay high actually, bad idea for the little guy.
If producers collude how is the guy not producing able to "keep the price low" ?
Elementary economics, my dear Watson.
Lol "IRL"
As always I appluad your intellectual energy, looking forward to seeing how this develops
