[Trito4CP] Foreign Affairs

Citizens of the Republic,
In this article, I will discuss my plans for eIreland's foreign policy during my term and beyond.

A first priority, as I'm sure you could guess, is to negotiate with Peru and end their occupation of our territories. Hopefully we can negotiate out of the wipe and even, perhaps, get a training war out of it. In addition, I would like a short-term (30 day?) NAP with Asteria/Asteria-aligned countries. The reasoning behind this is that we have sufficient problems to solve here at home without having to go out on expeditions that guarantee some sort of response from Asteria. Also, I find it difficult to imagine eIreland pursuing some military activity without a national MU, something I hope to establish during my term.

A second goal for my term is eIreland's accession to Pacifica. We already have many good friends in Pacifica, and I believe that eIreland's membership in an alliance would better safeguard eIreland's future. I also believe eIreland has much to offer to Pacifica. Although we don't have massive damage, we have courage and will, and we always defend our allies in need, as shown by the AS on Bulgaria we undertook the previous month, although we knew the consequences.

Lastly, I would like to discuss something unrelated to foreign policy, namely, my Minister of Immigration. The Minister would not have "total" control over immigration to eIreland, in fact that is impossible since only congressmen can accept CS requests. Rather, the Minister of Immigration would work with congress to make sure that all CS requests are discussed in congress threads and to make sure the public knows the immigration situation in eIreland with a weekly (or as warranted) article about immigration.

(I'd also like to note that my cabinet has more diversity in political opinion than my opponent's, and I believe that is a good thing. Dissenting voices should be heard, especially when their dissent is productive for the nation)
