[TRG] Still the Same

Day 3,053, 08:42 Published in USA USA by J.A. Lake

I decided to read the campaign articles, and noticed something similar between Melissa Rose and DMJ. Namely, that their cabinets are almost identical.

Let me run the numbers for you. Of 9 cabinet-level positions announced by Melissa Rose, 5 are the same as DMJ's picks and 1 is used by DMJ in a different position. That means we would see 6/9, or 67% of Melissa Rose's cabinet is no different than DMJ's.

From the other side, DMJ has announced 10 cabinet positions, of which 6 are the same as Melissa Rose's and one is used differently. That means 70% of DMJ's cabinet is identical to Melissa Rose's, though he's shaved a few people out.

Guess what, guys?

You cannot claim to be bringing new blood into the political game if the cabinet stays the same. Israel Stevens had seven cabinet positions per this article of which 5 will be continuing into the new cabinets. 71.4% of Israel Stevens' cabinet is moving into the next one either way.

What can we take from this?

1) Our Government is Not Inclusive

They talk a big game, but really look at this. 67-70% of players in next month's government are going to be the same players as last month's. 71.4% of players are going to be the same regardless.

Are they taking on deputies? That's cool. I guess none of those deputies are good enough to pitch in to the eUSA's governance during what could probably be called the most boring and protracted period of decline in the country's history.

No way they could handle that.

2) Denver's Revolving Door

Israel Stevens' VP and Chief of Staff are running against each other this month. If that's the pattern to follow, look for JadenA, Raccoon Goon, or Disco Musolini to run next month if the winner does not seek reelection. This is all dependent on nothing major happening in the next month (and given our insular and isolated foreign affairs, I'd say that's pretty likely).

3) We Are "Shooting Ourselves in the Foot"

Look, friends and not-friends. We lose the right to complain about activity being awful when we do everything in our power to make activity awful. Our next cabinet will be 71.4% the same as last month's cabinet. State will be the same, regardless of your "choice". The NSC will have the same chairmen. Department of Civilian Affairs will have the same leadership. The Press Secretary will be the same. Jaden A will be serving somewhere on her inevitable march to the Dictator's chair. The only major difference is the Secretary of Defense pick.

We don't get a choice. Rather, maybe we do get one. We get to decide which member of the Old Boy's Club gets to wear the Dictator pin this month. Otherwise, the cabinet will be the same. The game will remain the same. We will all remain dreadfully bored.

The eUSA must have better to offer than the same 5-9 people serving in the government month after month. I, for one, will not vote for either cabinet. I'd actually like to see them merge, since they're all the same people, and run against PilotPhil. DMJ and MR can co-Dictate, since they'd be practically the only different body filling a position.

Think about it before pulling the lever on the Fifth.
