[TRG] My Endorsement of Orikfricai

Day 3,240, 07:09 Published in USA USA by J.A. Lake

SFP's CP nomination process is the latest victim to fall to the PTO of the Socialist Freedom Party. Nominally, the endorsement has gone to someone the party did not vote on- the PTO cabal chose that without alerting the party.

So it is down to we, the membership, to endorse on a personal level. In my mind there is no choice but Orikfricai.

I found this picture of a dwarf.

I endorse Orikfricai for many reasons.

Chief among them, he's been a friend to the SFP. In this time where the SFP has been taken over and renamed, thrown into chaos, Orikfricai still came to us seeking an endorsement.

I asked, "Do you intend on treating this ARP PTO as legitimate?"

He responded, "For whatever it's worth, I support SFP. No matter what the oppressive tyranny decides, I will know that SFP has my back. Do you have a list of people that supported Cerb in his PTO? Cerb surely won't be part of my cabinet."

That's leadership: doing what is right, even if it isn't politically expedient. eRepublik today doesn't need administrators and bureaucrats. The game has contracted to the point where we don't have that need. What we need is someone who can lead. I see a leader in Orikfricai.

Looking through the SFP forums to back this up, I came upon the Orik4CP February thread, opened two months after the December Revolution. SFP was in a bad way back then too, though perhaps not as dire.

Pretty much the three months following December in one .gif file.

Eddie A. posed a question in that thread- how do you propose SFP bring ourselves into the fold?

I think Orikfricai's response was pretty eloquent:

"I don't think there is a different way. That's the only way they operate. Those in power are always resistant to change. Some more so than others.

You all should be like the water against a rock. Flowing, changing, but constant. Eventually, the water will wear away the rock.

Let me say something else. I haven't thought hard about your situation. I think your best minds would likely see a better solution. Given the time, this is what I have. It's not a great strategy, I know. Sounds like it sucks. Instant gratification would be nice. But we all know that will never happen. It won't be like flicking a switch
."

That's a sort of wisdom that the SFP needed at the time. His response shows a fundamental understanding of the SFP and its culture, one shown by precious few others that have run for office. To me, that shows a sort of empathy that compliments leadership well.

The most common detraction I see is that this past month has been a do-nothing month, that little has been accomplished. To this I say, change for change's sake cannot be a good thing. Even if it weren't a PTO, I'd have called Cerb's program of changes a terrible idea because they're destroying too much for too little gain- tearing down the government to make it fit the game sounds good on its face, but it makes the government more exclusionary. We don't need exclusion, we have never needed exclusion.

I've always believed in inclusion, and to that end there is no choice except for Orikfricai on October 5.

There have no doubt been times we have disagreed, but I believe firmly that Orikfricai is a friend to the Socialist Freedom Party and has more than earned our endorsement. Since we couldn't have a primary, though, I hope my own personal endorsement counts for something.

Good luck on Wednesday, Orikfricai! You've got my vote.
