Dear Admins,

Yet another open letter to you. But please, read on – this one is without complaining or accusing anyone. This a constructive input from one of your clients/customers.

I would like to start my letter with a citation from business literature:

“Customer satisfaction, a business term, is a measure of how products and services supplied by a company meet or surpass customer expectation. It is seen as a key performance indicator within business.”

This letter is related to customer’s satisfaction, to what makes us, your customers happy or unhappy. This is a cry in the wilderness.

1. EQUAL TREATMENT TO ALL NATIONS

Fairness should be at the corner stone of this game. When people win on loose on fair terms – much less of them will be embittered. We all know that when we have lost justly - we have little right to protest. Only then, more and more people will play this game. At this moment, MANY players openly suspect if that there is a fair treatment to all nations. How could you ensure equality?

REGIONS. When you already make names and regions according to RL – then resources should also be linked to data from RL! There are some ridiculous examples and here is just one: Russia has no grain regions, while Cyprus (?!?!?) has one! You cannot take from RL only what you like. Either transfer those regions and resources here truthfully, OR make a completely different world for this game.

BORDERS. We have seen explosion of new borders. Some countries (Turkey for example) are put in a position to border with too many countries. Should not there be a balance and give countries a fair chance to prosper and thus make this game more interesting?

FORFEIT POINTS. Can we please have public statistics of forfeit points by countries? That will reveal a lot of important data. Also, a good thing would be to have the statistics PER moderator and his/her nationality. That way, we can examine if Macedonian moderators, for example, are not intentionally giving forfeit points to Bulgarians. My fellow Macedonians have been punished with FP for unbelievably stupid things. Let me guess, they have been punished by Greek or Bulgarian moderators? Or maybe not..? Prove it then!

2. FREQUENT AND RADICAL CHANGES

Another factor important for customer’s satisfaction is the economic module. Here, we all must admit, things HAVE NOT been going smoothly. The chaos that is created in the monetary markets worldwide should have never happened in the first place! This is a grave mistake, one that you should have anticipated !

I know that it is in your interest for Gold to be more valuable. But even if you raise its value, please do so in terms of 6 months gradual transition – don’t just destroy markets in one week. This has seriously contributed to dissatisfaction.

3. USE OF SCRIPTS AND EXPLOITS

It is fair to punish all that have made illegal use of system exploits. But I would like to know, have only some Turkish players known about that problem? Really, no one else did in the world? No one else used it? And if yes – give us their list so that we know who else was punished.

The case for Bulgarian war scripts is made and it supported by great number of proofs. Have you considered them? Explain publicly to all. Detailed statistics of battles should solve this problem and bring it beyond any doubt. This is what customer’s satisfaction is about – make us have NO DOUBTS that the system is fair and right.

In my personal and perhaps biased opinion, in these last few days, Erepublik is in serious crises.

The level of discontent has risen dramatically due to several factors: rapid economic changes, illogical regions and borders, and use of unfair means. Players are disgruntled.

To me – this is just a game, but to you – this is a business. And any business where the customers believe they are treated unfair is bound to fail.

God knows how many customers you have already lost due to this. BUT! It doesn’t have to be that way! All in all, this can be a wonderful game! I have really enjoyed it and I am sure it can be improved and get EVEN BETTER! You are sitting on a Golden mine; this game can be really profitable to you as well. But please, please do something to raise customer’s satisfaction.
