❂ Thailand Drops the Ball ❂

During the first of three New Year's holidays, which are celebrated in Thailand, a new tradition took its place a few hours ago at midnight, on 31st. December 2013. In the spirit of this land of smiles, Thai can now boast of our very own Bangkok Ball Drop!

Whether the BBD is the “World's Highest” or the “World's Tallest”, as reported by TAT NEWS or abc NEWS respectively, is unimportant.

What is most impressive, much like eThai's team, is its transparency as it glides its 1.2 ton weight down a slender yet robust pole, triggering an explosion of lights, all visible to the naked eye for the whole world to see, or at least for everyone within a 1.8 kilometer radius!



Whether or not Thai's beloved King witnessed this new event in his Kingdom, is unknown. However, in keeping with his own tradition, his New Year's message was broadcast on television earlier in the evening.
