[Tem94/Alice] Defense and Foreign Affairs

Day 1,537, 13:05 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by temujin94

Welcome to my 3rd manifesto, Defence and Foreign Affairs.

Defence:

A main topic that always comes up is our alliance position. My tenure would see us continuing with the ONE alliance. This is opposed to being Pro-ONE as some would suggest. That move would leave us open to the same dangers but it will also allow us less coordination with our allies and receive less support for battles, and at the same time stop us influencing Alliance HQ.

The other alternative is joining either Terra or EDEN which if you’re old enough to remember was a complete failure the last time we entered it as we had no one to attack and boredom ensued. That on top of our continued hatred of Canada/Ireland/USA make it a very bad move for us to consider joining.

The ‘UKAF’ has seen a small revival recently and while I think that the UKAF should be broght back on a smaller scale, it is currently economically impossible as we can’t afford these extra supplies until we can start receiving congress donations again as all our money is currently tied up. The planning however should continue and become available when we can fill the treasury again, but on a smaller scale than past UKAF units.

Strikes have been a success this month and they’ll continue in the same fashion this month, with the added bonus of food for lower level players as well through the Food Bin scheme funded by older players. This will be brought in along with a reduction in command as it’s been slightly bloated int he last month or two with additional positions such as uMoD popping up.

Foreign Affairs:

The ministry will be returned to it’s former state of running the ‘Envoy’ system. This focuses a lot more of the work on individual pieces or work rather than collecting information for the whole month. It’s designed to have the envoys fit a more regular structure so more articles can be produced and with more rewards, usually monetary incentives which will be a very small cost on the grand scheme of things.

This system also operates at a smaller number of countries as in reality we only need to speak to 25-30 countries enough to warrant a envoy being sent. The current figure is at around 24 countries and this month we’ll hope to achieve a much more permanent list for future members that can be edited further down the line if changes occur on the alliance scene.

My final manifesto will be my Cabinet, this will be published early tomorrow containing all provisional members for government for February
