Join the Training Corps: Be Like Rike!

The Training Corps is not just a place for newbs. When we're not educating new citizens on the finer points of the game, we're also doing battle against America's enemies, making lasting friendships, or even socializing at the pub. To prove it, I caught up with one of the most diligent officers in the TC: Rike Tosh.

TDavis3000: All soldiers have the option to graduate and transfer to other branches once they meet the requirements, where they receive more weapons and food. What kept you in the TC initially? What keeps you here now?

Rike Tosh: I had originally planned to join the Airborne after my training, but over the course of three or four days I had spent in the TC IRC Channels, interacting and getting to know the Members. I sort of fell in love with it. I figured that the only real way to remain in the Training Corps as long as I was hoping for was to apply to become an Officer. And everything was better than I had hoped for as an Officer, it was fun, relaxed, yet it added a lot to the game.

So, in general, I suppose it was the Training Corps members who made me want to stay.

The reason I stay in the Training Corps pretty much remains the same, I love the people, what we do and how we do it. I plan on helping the Training Corps educate and ready new citizens and members of the eMilitary the best I can and for as long as I can. I have no intentions on leaving at all. The Training Corps is my home, my passion, and what keeps me playing this game now.

TDavis3000: What's one huge obstacle you've quietly overcome that you'd like to brag about now?

Rike Tosh: I'm not sure if I'd brag over it, but to be honest one of the most painful ( Relative terms here, I've delt with some pretty hardcore Real Life issues 😛 ) things I've experienced so far is really just seeing some of the people I first met while in the Training Corps start to resign due to Real Life Issues. It's hard to lose people you consider friends, people you like, anyway.

1stlthawkeye was perhaps one of the top five people I respected and liked most in the Training Corps, I had seen her on IRC since I first logged on for the first time, and even before I was an officer ( She was my CO most of the while of my officer career ) she never stopped training me and giving me advice. There were really few people that I respected more than her, so seeing her go was rather hard. But, for those who have left, I do wish them the best and I've lost *NO* respect once so ever for them, and love them the same. Gotta do what you gotta do, amirite? 😛

TDavis3000: If there's one thing that the entire eUSA community needs to work on, it would be...

Rike Tosh: One of the largest problems I see the eUS has as a community is simply unity. There's so much garbage about funding, division, and other nonsense that hardly matters anymore that I can see where it will ( if not already ) become a major problem within our structure. We need our leaders, whether it be the President, or the commanders of the Militias to pull their heads out of their arses ( No offense ) and start working together again and stop putting knifes to each others' throats because of petty squabbles.

TDavis3000: Would you rather have a great pizza or some good chicken parmesan?

Rike Tosh: I love pizza. It's one of my favorite foods 😛 A nice thick Crusted, extra cheese Pizza with some hot buffalo wings, some bread sticks, and a nice cold Pepsi. Perfection. Hands down 😛
