Wilker keyed into his apartment, then turned on the ceiling light before closing the door. He checked the clock. 10 : 38pm… ’Right, now I need to shower.’ His brain was constantly focused on the next task these days. It was extremely busy being both the Secretary of Media, and Secretary of Education, but it was also extremely rewarding. Above all, he was glad he had such a great team to work with.

In the shower, he thought of where he was a month ago. It was a few days before the election. Serbia had declared an airstrike. He was sure the country was going to get wiped, but they would go down fighting. And now… they had peace. They had full bonuses. And above all, they had activity. Now, that radio show he ran on the side had trouble reaching the front page sometimes, whereas before, the media was so dead that even a niche article such as his daily music one could have a place in the featured news items. Yeah, life could be stressful at times, but it was a good kind of stressful. He wasn’t helpless, and neither was the country.

He heard a phone notification as he was rinsing off. He quickly got out, dried his hands on a towel, and checked it. It was his Foreign Affairs boss, PimpDollaz, asking how relations were with eGermany. ’Things are going well, I can get you a report in the morning.’ He could reply to that with confidence. As many things as he had his hands in, he managed to keep on top of it all. He really admired the MoFA that he was working with, though. Outside of the cabinet, they were from rival parties and would normally have not many reasons to work together or even talk. But here… they were both just people trying to put the country in a better spot. Pimp was doing really great with the ambassador program, too, he wished he could convince more of his fellow party members to sign up for it. They were friends, even though their parties had a rivalry. And the rest of the cabinet had similar experiences working across party lines. It was really a beautiful thing, and Wilker wished the rest of the country could see it as easily as he had.

He dried off and got into his pajamas, then put his phone on the nightstand charging. He turned the ring volume way up in case someone needed to reach him urgently. As he laid there before going to bed, he thought about this small q1 apartment. He would be able to afford a better place now, definitely a q2, maybe even a q3! He wasn’t getting paid for any of his executive jobs, of course, but the companies he held were doing so well in the post-war economy that he had some extra spending cash. He made a mental note to go house shopping when his work afforded him time.

His phone buzzed again. It was another new friend from that same rival party, Wilhelm Rontgen, asking about getting press attention for that new workers program he got running. That man did have some unconventional economic ideas, and many in the country held their breath when the President named him as SoCA, but Wilker had seen the programs were going well, and had a great future ahead of them. He sent a reply, then once again closed his eyes with his head on the pillow.

His last few thoughts before drifting off to sleep were wondering about the first Monday after their term ended. Would they still be friends? Wilker considered all those people his friends, but he had to wonder…

If he walked up to Wilhelm and a group of his SFP buddies on Monday and said hi, would he just say hi and then make fun of him after he left so the rest of SFP didn’t think he really liked him? Or if PimpDollaz walked up to Wilker and a group of WTP people on Monday, would he do the same? Could he stand up to social pressure and defend his friend? Will this beautiful, high-energy cabinet that worked so well together continue to be good friends after the term ends?

It was crazy, trying to tell this politically-polarized country and the mass media who each of them thought they were. The public saw them how they wanted to see them: in the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. But what they found out working in this cab is that each of them is:
A writer…
And a Socialist…
And someone who dies frequently…
A person in a department which exists…
And a President.

They were… Tyler’s Cabinet.

...but seriously, Tyler has been doing an awesome job, we’ve revived so many departments and gotten so many programs running, I know I’m biased because I’m one of the people making it happen, but there are so many good things already here, and so much more to come. We’re just getting started. Give us one more month, and we will not disappoint.
