Желим да честитам свим грађанима Србије - Дан државности!

Као што знате овај датум је веома важан за српску државу. На овај је дан 1804. године започео Први српски устанак и Српска револуција.

Повод за револт против Турака је између осталог био догађај познат као Сеча кнезова. Четири турске Дахије су на превару заробиле око 70 највиђенијих Кнеза и погубили су их на градском тргу у Ваљеву, а њихове главе су поставиле на трг за пример.

Због тога су се, 14. фебруара 1804, сви највиђенији Срби сакупили у Орашцу и договорили се да подигну устанак, а за вођу су изабрали Ђорђе Петровића који ће бити познат као Карађорђе. У наредним годинама Срби ослобађају већи део данашње Централне Србије, оснивају Народну скупштину и проглашавају независност од Отоманског царства.


Предња страна устава
На овај дан је 1835. године донешен Сретењски устав. Ово је био први устав Србије и за то време доста модеран. Творац устава је био Димитрије Давидовић. Уставом се је у Србији укинуо феудализам, чиме је то Србија учинила међу првима у Европи. Под страним притиском (Русија, Аустрија и Отоманско царство) овај устав је брзо и повучен.

As you know this is a very important date for the Serbian state. On this day in 1804, First Serbian Uprising started and with it Serbian revolution.

The reason for the revolt against the Turks, among others, was an event known in history as Slaughter of the Knezes (Knez was a local governor of small area). Four Turkish Dahias (leaders of the rebelled Janissaries) decided to capture with trickery about 70 Knezes and when they did, they executed them on the town square of Valjevo, and planted their heads on the square as an example.

Therefore, on 14th february 1804, all the remaining famous Serbs gathered in village called Orašac and agreed to start a rebellion. The leader of rebellion became Djordje Petrovich who would be known as Karadjordje (Black George on Turkish). In the following years the majority of Central Serbia was liberated, National Assembly of Serbia was founded and Serbia declared independence from Ottoman empire.

Also on this day in 1835. constitution of Sretenje (Sretenje - Candlemas) was adopted. This was the first Serbian constitution and for it's time it was very advanced. The creator of the constitution was Dimitrije Davidovich. The constitution abolished feudalism in Serbia and thus Serbia was one of the first states to do so. Under foreign pressure (Russia, Austrian and Ottoman Empire) was soon abolished.
