[SLP][PPP] Dissolution of SLP, Birth of PPP

Day 2,160, 14:03 Published in Switzerland Bulgaria by remi.remi

Welcome to The Revolutionary!

Today I'm bringing news of something good and something bad (yet unavoidable).

Dissolution of the Swiss Liberal Party

The Swiss Liberal Party (SLP) has been something I've been proud to call myself a part of since my ebirth in Spring this year. For several months it was a place where occasional chatter happened; elections for PP were usually interesting (May, June, and July were particularly memorable), but really that's all that ever happened.

In July I was elected president of the party and I have held that position since then. My campaign went wonderfully and gathered support internationally, which I am grateful for and humbled by to this day.

Much like what happens in real life, though, upon winning the presidency I found there was little I could do to change things. I still want to support new politicians, challenge the AIM-oriented government, and question all of the issues we face here in Switzerland as a unified political force, yes, but I found and I have felt that the SLP is not the place to do so.

The SLP is currently Switzerland's oldest party, founded by several RL Swiss with big names; Renouille, Eleriel, F4uc0n, and many others that unified to fight the Theocrats, Shaolins, and other historic enemies. The party died out by mid-2011 but was reformed by mungos95 in 2012, and kept life through several great PP's like Hunter4Life123, jkli5, and Kaad. While yes, the SLP has clung to life in the past year or so, it has done so without a purpose. The historic implications of the party are just that, historic, and the SLP nowadays is just another member of the Swiss ATO coalition of parties where the government (not the party) has to find a PP to keep PTOers out of office.

I am saddened by that, but I have come to terms with it; the SLP has lived out its natural life. To try and keep it afloat where it has lost any values or traditions is senseless. It is something to be proud of for many great deeds and people, but it is now time to put it to rest.

To all SLP members, leaders, politicians, soldiers, whatever you identify yourself as: thank you for playing a wonderful part in a wonderful political party.

Popular People Party

With that out of the way, I'm left president of an in game party that has enough inactive members to prevent actual dissolution, not that I would anyway since I have the perfect opportunity to PTO an in game party. So without further ado, I present the Popular People Party.

The Popular People Party... what a concept.
I guess I'll start off with the etymology: the Popular People implies celebrities. Not only are we PPP members celebrities, but we like real celebrities. It is a central part of the charter below that the PPP must provide support for its members favorite celebrities, which is a large part of several people's lives (hint: look at all of my banners for all of my articles).
The Party in PPP is not a political party, no, that's boring. It's a bass-dropping dancing-until-you-throw-up-then-dancing-more-until-you-explode party. Because why not.

The PPP is a collection of friends where all are welcome to join.

Here is the constitution/charter/whatever you want to call it of the party that must be uphel😛

1. The PP will keep an active medium of communication between the party for conversation and debate
2. While debates and occasional weave-snatching regarding politics and pop stars is acceptable, the PP must reflect the views of all of its members in any public announcement or article. The only part of the party completely at mercy of the PP is the icon.
3. The PP (or another appointed official) must present the views of the PPP where its members feel strongly, publicly should they determine or privately should a politician be PPP.

It's pretty simple, but I'm serious: politicians of the PPP have an obligation to represent its members, and the PPP is to remain a community of friends and equals.

I also have several quabbles to take up with the government of Switzerland that has been the same for nearly a year. I should hope other people could present their quabbles and we could present it together.

The PPP is the present and future of SUCCESSFUL Switzerland.

Minister of Culture, PP of the Popular People Party/former Swiss Liberal Party

P.S. I had hoped to convey it in the first section, but especially as Minister of Culture I can see where it looks like I'm striking down Swiss history and tradition. My answer to that is that it was already dead.

P.P.S. I'd like to thank my friend and lover jkli5 and my efather Paul Proteus for good advice when I was thinking about this. They're awesome.
