[SDP]A Brief Summary of Things to Come

Day 971, 06:20 Published in United Kingdom France by Melophore

To old and new members of the Social Democrat Party, I wish to foward you with the basic actions that will take place at the beginning of my term in office and my primary ambitions.

My first ambition is to get you all onto the forum We are going to devise a new polling system where you will be informed of upcoming polls through the party newspaper so you can all express your mind.
Many people in the party are not aware of polls being held and the more people express themselves the more polls will be representative of the party's opinion.
You can not take a poll results seriously if only four or five people approve a motion.

All party members will get a message when this system is up and running. We will hold a test poll to see how much activity we can hope to get, and set a minimum participation level.

You have to register to the forums as soon as possible. At this link :

If we want our party to be truly democratic, we need everybody to express themselves.

My second ambition is to give the party institutions, such as an electoral team to deal with Congress, a Court to resolve disputes hoping there will not be any. A system of checks and balances that gives the elected leader a clear mandate to get things done, but also gives the leader an active feedback system to remain in touch with the real party.

My third ambition is to set this young party into the polticial spectrum in the place where it belongs. I have contacted the eUK-Left and want the party to be a positive and usefull force for the Country. We need a coherant plan for our elections, the SDP Congress group will work with PCP and TUP to create a sound majority. Being part of the action is better than not doing anything at all.

My fourth ambition is to reward merit rather than CV's. I think that anybody with enough motivation and putting in time to help the party deserves a greater chance than those that have experience. It might seem unfair for the older citizens, but it is the only way youngster can buid up experience.

Why all this ? The Party President and the party must be close to the everyday life and concerns of the basic citizens, collect their problems and wishes, turn this into policy, find answers and relay them onto government. This of course does not prevent us from finding solutions at our own level.

Of course when this is done, we can move on to other projects.

That is why I think people should join this party and help us out with those goals.
