[SBR4CP] The Man Behind the Mask
Simon Boucher-Ruest
Recently, I have received a lot of comments that are along the likes of: “You’re a great individual, but you chose the wrong party.” This had me wondering about something.. Why did I choose the MDP, and why was it the right choice for me? Why would the CPF or Clan Wolf be “better” for me?
When I started playing eRepublik, in June 2011, I first joined EPIC. After about a week of it being inactive, I realized this party wasn’t for me. After that, I joined the Canadian Paradox Party, at the time ran by Jacobi. This is where I started getting involved in the politics, and in eCanada in general. Jacobi gave me my first shot at becoming a congressman, and he shared some of his huge knowledge with me. This helped me a lot during my first months in the game. Unfortunately, there came a time when Jacobi had to leave the game, and therefore leave the party as well. The “leadership” of the party was then passed to Ethel Rosenberg. After a few months trying to defend the party that first gave me a chance, I realized that the public was right. The CPP was falling down faster than a fatass jumping out of a 14th floor window. When I tried to confront the “leadership”, my propositions were not met kindly. That’s when I knew I had to leave.
So I left for the MDP. This party was, at the time of my departure from the CPP, the most active and in-your-face party in Canada. I decided that I could use some fun. During my time in the MDP, I was elected as Canadian Comptroller. For those of you who do not know, this means I am in charge of distributing the funds to our Military Units. If I was the brainless puppet some people think I am, I probably wouldn’t have held that spot for 5 months and counting. I wouldn’t have been trusted with hundreds of thousands of eCanadian tax payers funds.
After helping Rylde with the MDP, I then became the Party President. In my 4 months as PP, I haven’t been too vocal, but I have always been active. Those of you who frequent IRC know this. Those who don’t, do not, and I apologize for that. But In those 4 months, I stayed true to myself. I did what I had to do, as PP, as Comptroller, and as an eCanadian citizen.
If you elect me as your CP this month, you know what you’re gonna get. You’re gonna get action. I’m not willing to sit back and watch a boring month unfold before my retirement. I am not the kind of person to sugar coat, but that has never been a problem communicating with allies, just ask Portugal or Ireland. On Friday, you’ll have a choice to make. I believe ElPatoDiablo would make a good CP, but only a good one. I believe I would make an excellent CP, and I’d definitely be entertaining. After all, isn’t that what a game is about?
However, I have been considering my position. I will be leaving on October 30th, and I acknowledge that this might hurt the country. So I offer this: when I leave, I will resign from the Presidency and let ElPatoDiablo take over. I know this man will be a good president, and I am sure he will try again next term. By giving my position to him when I leave, I will be insuring he get’s more practice and is able to start setting up his plans.
With that being said, on Friday, I ask you to vote for myself, Simon Boucher-Ruest.
Until next time... Peace
Simon Boucher-Ruest,
CP Hopeful

If simon was a girl, I'd make him my lover.
And then we'd Eiffel Tower him.
I find it ironic that your slogan is ''25 days of war is better than 30 days of inactivity'' when the inactive CP this month was none other than.... the MDP candidate!
... That was entirely the point, Beeman.
slow clap for Beeman.....
i find it ironic that:
im willy, willy beeman,
got the ladies, creaming,
think you can beat him, you dreamin,
cause its willy, willy beeman
i am kinda disappointed im not your go-2 guy, though, simon,
me, your partner in crime
Will we NE Spain?
SBR definately deserves his shot at CP. I have full confidence in his abilities.
My puppet statement really stung eh? I don't think I ever once questioned your intelligence though. You've got chops Simon. Best of luck tomorrow, but Imma stick with my boy ElPatoDiablo.
@Quimbie: Don't flatter yourself too much, you're not the first, nor the last to make that statement 😛
Simon is should be our go to guy to start patching up our foreign affairs. He has worked with the Irish and Portugal Governments in the past.
Sad to see you go

Simon is p cool for being a frog.
@Simon I am a sexy beast, so flatter myself I must. Oh and @ChewChew you win the award for butthead post of the night... unless that was a lame attempt at humour, and even then.
Smells like a teen spirit (;
ElPatoDiablo is the future!
Simon is now!
On Friday, vote SBR4CP

Simon is awswrum
How fast is "falling down faster than a fatass jumping out of a 14th floor window."?
I need those mythbuster guys to break this down for me on their show.
MDP was a cool party ( I was MDP member ) while Connor was president.
MDP was a cool party until they decided to work against eCanada and unite with Norsefire PTO community.
MDP is not a cool party anymore.
SBR is a great guy, smart and fun, Rylde was too, I'm sure Wally is, but Rolo isn't and Rolo is the one pulling all the strings.
There is always someone above the highest ranked person. Rolo was above Rylde, Wally and he will be above SBR.
Rolo4CP for the third time.
I truly do find it interesting when people start with the "Rolo's in charge of everything" shenanigans.
I wonder what they'd do when they realized that there actually isn't a single person in charge. There is no one making decisions, no one pulling strings. There is barely any Coalition communication at all. And why is that? Because MDP and Norsefire are NOT the same, and aren't functioning as the same.
But, realistically, those who don't think for themselves likely never will. Those who remain stubborn will remain stubborn. That is the way of the masses, after all.
Venerable, I guess that puts you among the stubborn ones. 😃
Does it, indeed? I suppose because I am Rolo's pawn, right?
Is that why I'm taking the MDP a step back from the Coalition? Your ignorance is astounding.
You're just a two bit troll stuck on repeat.
Also, don't take stubborn out of context. It's only a problem when you're ignorant and have no concept of critical thinking or strategic planning.
I'll vote for any candidate that has 'strategic planning' to get eCanada better established in a spot between CTRL and EDEN, because we're going nowhere in Terra. Not sure that can be done in only 20 days as a CP, though I guess Simon would throw a fun going away party full of war and daring NEs.
Do I hear Airstrike ?
Actually, it's 25 days, not 20. And yes, you might hear airstrike, that depends on how Canadians Congressmen are willing to go
Sorry, when I read this "I have been considering my position. I will be leaving on the 25th" I thought you meant October 25th, rather than your 25th Day as CP.
Shoot, I went to the Airstrike option and it looks like we cannot donate any more food to it. Congress will just have to wait:

Yeah, I've changed it, was poorly worded
@Venerable, you said that there are two tipes of people. The ones that don't think for them selves and the stubborn ones. Since you deny that you are the stubborn one than I guess you are the one that don't think ?
Until your last 2 comments I considered you a really smart guy and the person who knows how to express in the proper way, but now I don't. I didn't consider you as one of the Rolos blind followers, but now I do.
Just because I think differently from you about Norsefire and MDP you attacked me. I think that pretty much says everything about you not being stubborn, you being intelligent etc.
Yo ppl, vote for mah boy Simon tomorrow \o/
@Mochan: You just proved Venerable's point without even realizing it. You sir are Fail personified.
@Mochran Drust no has or ever will be pulling my strings I considered the deal with Rolo to be of equal say. Thats the part many of you fail to realize.
You make it seem like a party that was over 100 members with 20-30 actives would all of a sudden fall to slaves for Rolo. Thats the o ly part of your theory that has na dnever will make sense.
You have my 100% support this time SBR.
Voted...
SBR, you can always join The Moose 🙂.
ElPatoDiablo for Canada!
Sorry Gooffree, I won't join a party that I deem boring
Here's the thing, Mochan.
I love diversity. I think it's absolutely wonderful for their to be separate parties with their own views, and in truth I think it's vital for this to be so. However, there always comes a time when individuals start to play merely on the basis of egocentric tendencies.
For example, this occurs when an individual, who knows abosolutely NOTHING about the inner workings of a party, start's bashing said party on generic assumptions.
There is no point of "seeing differently." It's entirely a point of ignorance versus informed. Albeit it's forced ignorance, spawned from Coalition vagueness, so there is always that point.
Regardless, I simply pointed out you're doing. Whether you realize it or not, you're acting like a troll stuck on repeat.
Also, I never said there were only two types of people. I merely said that some people fall into those two categories. Most, unfortunately.
