[REV] Congress No Longer By The People

Day 2,938, 12:46 Published in USA USA by Tom Cauchon

Dear SFP Comrades and Friends,

I write to you today in excitement and exuberance. Today, we have seemingly done the impossible. Today, we learned that citizens throughout the eUS stand with us. They stand with Gnilraps and SFP. They stand for freedom and democracy. They stand against the meta lords of the forums, and wish to gain true freedom from such oppression.

Elites are ugly, ugh Google I didn’t ask for Halo

Prior to Election Day, I thought Gnilraps stood but a slim chance for victory. The endorsements of the Federalist Party, the USWP, WTP, BSP and AMP were a tall order to defeat. SFP, with a small coalition of smaller parties, stood on its own two feet. I thought defeat was inevitable. And thus SFP and its Revolutionary Committee drugged on. We wrote article after article, nearing a total of almost 12 articles from SFP members throughout the week. Even in the face of defeat, we rose above. That is something I take pride in in SFP. Even when we face inevitable opposition and the odds are stacked against us, we soldier on.

Where we failed in the Congressional elections, we succeeded in the Presidential elections. The votes came, and they continued to come for Gnilraps. The eAmerican people showed their true beliefs. They voted for a dictator free month.

Therefore, I make this declaration boldly, I believe that Congress no longer represents the will of the people.

If I am to provide support for my statement, let’s consider how candidates are elected to Congress in political parties. Every month, each party president sets up a forum poll as a Congressional primary for the Congressional in-game lineup. It becomes a cluster f*ck of the usual leadership players tossing votes at one another. Is this really a fair way to conduct Congressional elections? In an out-of-game forum? Where you manage to barely scrape 11 or 12 votes for your polls each month? Are the Feds 200-something members truly represented by the 10 votes on their forum? No of course not.

And thus is the way of the game. SFP conducts its Congressional voting in a similar way. However, you’ll notice that very few SFP members after more than a handful of Congressional medals in-game. You’ll notice that we rotate most of our members in Congress, and always put our newest members first. (i.e. Gnilraps and James Schubert this month, placed 1 and 2 respectively). We have a Constitution that prioritizes newer players with less experience.

The people showed you today Congress that they no longer want a dictator. If you fail to give the people what they want, then the inevitable is clearly coming.

You were given the power of Congress to support and empower the people ingame, not consolidate and strengthen your accounts in an off-site forum.

Congress, allow the people what they want. Otherwise, I smell change in the air.

LONG LIVE THE REVOLUTION

Sincerely,

Tom Cauchon
SFP Revolutionary Chairman
