Fellow Belgians,

This Sunday the 5th of September the Country President elections are upon us again. This month's election promises to be an interesting one, with two candidates supported by all five parties. On one side you have Theneka, supported by the Belgian Communist Party and Belgium for Belgians, and on the other side you have me, Habraka Abrivianius, supported by Res Belgica, The Free Belgium party and the Belgian Autocracy Party. This article will tell you a bit more about who I am, why I am running for Country President, and what I intend to change this following term.

First, a little about myself.

I started playing on the 25th of December 2008, when Belgium was still merged with the United Kingdom. During my first month, the United Kingdom was invaded by France and PEACE, and lost it's Belgian regions. Our regions went from British ownership, to French, to Belgian. This was a time of great change, as Belgium had been a part of the UK for most of it's existence till that time. To add to the turmoil, Belgium got partially liberated (Brussels was still owned by the UK) right before the President elections, which caught us of guard seeing as we didn't even have political parties yet. A couple of weeks later, a rogue American with his army of multi's created a party and ran for Congress. After the election, he was soon banned, and I took over his party, renaming it Free Flanders. From then on I was the Party President of Free Flanders, Member of Congress for Flanders, Minister of Trade and Minister of Foreign Affairs.



Barely two months later, during the March 2009 Congress elections, Belgium was again subject to a PTO, now from the rogue Spanish group called Tropas Imperiales. The Belgian government, at that time led by CreveRoeland, Palodigon and myself, found ourselves outnumbered 10:1 against the invaders in terms of active voters. Therefore I engineered, together with CreveRoeland and Kheops, a merger with The Netherlands. In half an hour time, The Netherlands had completed conquered Belgium, the Spanish invaders were thrown out, and the Belgian people rejoiced! As for me, after playing for three months in a Belgium that was barely active, I decided it was time for a change.

I moved to Germany, and got active in politics there as well. I got elected to German Congress, went on to become Party President of Freie Deutsche Demokraten, and head of the German Foreign Legion. Around that time I was also leading the Abrivianius Defense Force, a private militia with members from countries like but not limited to Belgium, the US, Ireland, the UK, Germany and Spain. We fought every day, we had free weapons and Moving Tickets, and access to cheap food through the Abrivianius Conglomerate, a network of a dozen companies providing our every need. The ADF fought in many battles, often taking the side of the smaller, weaker countries, of which we helped liberate quite a few.

May/June '09; Sweden and Poland invaded Germany in order to gain access to the High Grain regions, and for political reasons. I fought in all the battles, gaining several Battle Hero medals, and spending hundreds of Gold on the defense of Germany. My articles frequently gained 500+ votes in countries like the USA, calling on help against Sweden and Poland, but to no avail. Germany was completely conquered. However, help soon arrived in the form of PEACE, after which I paid for and started seven (yes, 7) Resistance Wars to liberate Germany from their oppressors.

Around June/July '09, it was time for another change, and I moved to the United States. Soon after arriving, the US, Canada, Spain and Greece were locked in a deadly war against the whole of PEACE. A massive invasion of North American territory almost completed eradicated my new home. Again I found myself forced to fight, which after several weeks resulted in the US winning back most of it's regions with the help of their allies. After initially been greeted with hostility, seeing as I fought against US allies in the defense of Germany before I came to the US, I was now starting to feel more at home. During the August Congress elections, I was able to run for Congress, and to everyone's surprise, I was elected Senator for the Maine region due to a bug. The US Senate decided to give me a chance to prove my loyalty, as they did not fully trust me yet due to previous allegiance. I went on to serve my term as the most active Senator, contributing a lot to Congress and serving as an example for others to follow. Needless to say, I had build a reputation for myself. I later ended up as a US Ambassador and Chief of Staff of the Democratic Party.



It was also around that time I had started to produce Q5 Hospitals and Defense Systems, which I donated for free, or at a heavy discount, to small and weaker countries. Germany, Denmark, Japan, the Czech Republic and Switzerland all benefited from The Abrivianius Foundation Charity Project. Estimates are that around 5.000 Gold was donated through various projects to countries in need.



Around October '09, my attention was once again focused on Belgium, the country I was born in. Belgium had been a part of The United Netherlands since March '09, but the cracks were starting to show. I got an increasing number of citizens talking to me about independence for Belgium, especially after a mini-Belgian babyboom which had occured a couple of months earlier. Most of these new players were from Wallonia, and spoke French rather than Dutch. Some of these new Walloon players adapted quite quickly, others had a more difficult time. It was then decided by a group of secessionists, that Belgium should be able to regain it's independence as a free and neutral country. I came back to Belgium and helped finance Seal Team 6 with Josh Frost, who later ended up becoming US President, which started the liberation of Belgium. At the same time a PTO group appropriately called The Group had their eyes set on Belgium as well, but for less humanitarian reasons. Nevertheless, we decided our best chance to liberate Belgium was to work together with them against The Netherlands, who had PEACE back up.



We succeeded in liberating Flanders and Brussels, although I quit playing soon after, for both real life reasons and for the simple reason I needed a break from a highly time demanding career during the last 11 months of my life. I frequently logged in to find dozens, sometimes over a hundred (yes, 100+) mails in my inbox. It was simply getting too much, so I took a break till I came back around a month ago.

Since my return, I have been elected Party President of Res Belgica, elected as Member of Congress for the Brussels region, and now I am the Country President candidate for Res Belgica, The Free Belgium Party and the Belgian Autocracy Party.



I have been a Party President for six terms, member of Congress five times, and I have been in Belgian, German and American governments as Minister of Trade, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Secretary of the Treasury. I have lead my own, 100 member strong, private militia, I have been a member of the UK Para's, and co-funded Seal Team 6. I have fought all around the world, owned several dozens of companies, and at one point in time, had as much as 10.000 Gold to call my own.

I have years of experience when it comes down to governing countries, dealing with military matters, economic ventures and diplomatic negotiations. My international contacts number into the thousands, including former and current Presidents, Members of Congress, military leaders, business magnates, media moguls and common citizens alike.



My political adversary Theneka centers his election campaign around the goal of "having fun" during his term. Well, let me ask this of you all, when do you have the most fun when playing a game? That's right, when you are winning!

If elected to the Presidency, I will aim to increase Belgium's wealth, lay the foundations for a strong army and Congress, start a New Player Experience program to help new citizens to find their way in this game, to start and maintain an active (training) war so we have something else to do than work/study/train day in, day out. I will look for ways to establish us as an international important country in the diplomatic area, with the goal of earning us some respect and recognition from the rest of the world, even though we aren't a military or economic superpower. As President of Belgium, I will do my best to make this country a better place, so we can move forward as a community, start playing the game as it has been meant to, so you, the citizen, can get the fullest experience out of this game which you play to enjoy yourself.



This is not an election so someone can roleplay an idealist for his own personal gain and pleasure, no, this is an election so each and everyone of you can enjoy whatever this game has to offer. Together with you, I hope to lay the foundations of a Belgium that grows, evolves, improves, thrives and prospers.
