[Reprint] A hard day for me.

Day 951, 03:41 Published in United Kingdom France by Melophore
I decided to delete and reprint yesterday's article, I would have to end up reporting half the comments... I wish for people to respect game rules a bit more in the future. I can't express myself on the forum, and the same people are flooding the comments here. I guess free speech is a real problem for them...

A hard day for me ingame but well worth it. I believe that you don't lose anything if you defend your word and stand by your friends. On the long run, that's what gets you happiness.

After an apology for the poor show, and after having cleared some insults from some party members, I've been called many things today. After being called a child, a lunatic and many other things... I can't help but notice the violence some people have been showing towards me in the last 24h.
Just look ! http://www.erepublik.com/en/citizen/profile/1472697

I realize now that an apology, good reasons and party interests at heart, they will still go on bashing you.

I guess all this started last night when I confronted our party president about the wrong doings during the last election. Rory Winterbourne was supposed to do the mailing for Eric Ross's campaign. A candidate the whole party had agreed upon in the most democratic manner.

Rory Winterbourne took it upon himself to sabotage, because there is no other word for it, to mail his own campaign message without telling our candidate. Ross alerted me on the matter, so I decided to investigate, and it turned out that he was telling the truth. The few votes Rory got in this manner prevented Ross from winning the election outright.

It is true I was unhappy by the results of the Congress elections, the decline in active membership and the drop in party members since this contreversial election. The reaction was clear, instead of answering to all this, Rory Winterbourne removed my access to the usergroup I founded when I set up the party, and also banned me from the SDP IRC channel.

I don't really know what has been going on in the SDP forums, but a vast majority of the FEW active there have been very violent in their comments on my articles today. Some have been banned for a little while for insults, others got a few forfeit points. My intent wasn't to get that sort of reaction but to get them to think.

I also made it clear why I was unhappy and why I think there are enough valid reasons to question the moral legitimacy of the actual leadership.

I'm not really asking for access back, since the whole thing has been trusted, and since I can't really respond to any accusations since I can't be aware of them.

Let's say the actual Melophore bashing is simply a ruse to distract people from the facts. The jist of it is Melophore is crazy, he's a real nutjob, he'll bark up any tree, let's tell him to f*** off and people will support us.
There are some saying things they don't even understand, the one I like the most is Artela talking about Ajay, when she never knew him and knows nothing of him.

A few weeks ago, these people were no where near close to Congress, they got there chance and are just trying to blend it, to be like the others. Melobashing is an effective way to do it.

To distract members from what ? If all this violence has a meaning, is that they are trying to hide something. The fall in active membership, an qustionnable elected leader silencing a person that was about to reveal something very interesting in the manner he got elected. I may underline the fact that Rory Winterbourne did NOT break any game rules but acted against the practice of the party. A few went along to protect their Congress seats, others out of ambition, a few tried to make a stand on moral principles. They were drowned out.

I'm really suprised at people like Lon Kirk and Artela that didn't stand by a person they claimed to support. You share victory as you share defeat.

It is fairly simple to drown out opposing voices in a forum with flooding. Kaiskais is very good at writing long posts and nit-picking... After a couple of humilitiations on your spelling, insinuating others are noobs, many just gave up... It was clear that anyone questionning the moral implications was simply drowned out, and forced into silence.

I'm not saying that Rory Winterbourne and KaisKais have no talent, they have a lot of it. I even told Rory Winterbourne before the election that I would support him AFTER Ross's term. He simply couldn't wait.

Phasing out all aid to new players, abandonning recruiting, forcing people into silence just to get to press the buttons a month early is really counterproductive. The SDP simply has no real policy at the moment and no plans.

What was the good idea ? Well working together would have been a start, if KaisKais and rory Winterbourne had waited a month, we could have estbalish a good programme, got structure in place, and lifted the party to new heights.
Instead of that the party has hit an all time low since the end of my term in terms of membership. All this is a shame and a waste.

I asked Rory Winterbourne not to run again, as a follow up to the Eric Ross affair. I couldn't ask much from KaisKais, Congress and CP are his objectives.

All things could have turned out well. We could have got the party back on tracks, aim for another members within a month. Prepare a brilliant Congress campaign for those who are interested, instead we will have stagnation, another poor campaign in July; a membership that will plunge. I have forcasted this already. And so far I have never got it wrong.

Visibly a tough day for me, it often goes that way... Sweet Melophore-bashing, but I'm used to that. The stronger the bashing, the more people are bothered by what I'm saying.
Insulted and bashed all day for standing by my friends isn't such a bad thing, it has been quiet revealing. I now know who has a word worth anything, who are my friends, and who will gladly backstab me for a bit of popularity.
