[RAF] Bulletin and mini-games, round 5

Day 5,521, 10:30 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Sir Humphrey Appleby

Apologies for the predictably festive delay lads and hope you all have an auspicious 2023 o7

Weekly Bulletin

• A very warm welcome to our new pilots Yigit and Gneo!

• If possible try to WIN defending campaigns and LOSE attacks, though we don’t need to secure every battle correctly. A longer campaign means more medals for both us and our eight training war partners.

• Usual reminder that to qualify for Gov subsidy you need to respect other UK players’ medal runs, currently whoever's first at 20k in Air and 80m in D4. Lower divs doing their daily order will always take priority.

Mini-games - Round 5

(all welcome to take part)

>Where’s the eUK?

We’ve again 'upped sticks' and have found a new home in one of our former colonies/territories. Which one is it? Will you stick to your guns or try somewhere new?

You can post your guess in the comments 'ere again. Those closest wins a £10k pot with £5k for the runner up.

Round 4 results: the correct answer was...

Canada!

Around 4,600km away in Belize scores the Yosemite the pot, with the amazing guess of Scunthorpe bagging Chaz the runners up. Well played gents!

Keith was disqualified for using the strange name 'Malvinas'…

LIAR

Clue’s in the title - here we’ll have someone each week tell us a bit about themselves and give some 'facts', one of which is a lie. Given this week’s liar stubbornly insisted he be graced with 5 facts the pot’s been bumped up to £20k split between the correct guesses.

So yes, this week we have our oldest player Certacito up on the podium - good luck folk!

"Good morning all,

I joined eRepublic on 3rd December 2007, some thirteen days after the game launched and received my citizen number 3159. Shortly after signing up I joined the first Political Party in eUK - the United Kingdom Reform Party - and I am still here some 15+ years later. Although the current in-game stats show me as having 121 terms of service as an elected member of Congress, the true number is around 137-ish as for the first year and a half Congress places were not recorded.

Over my time I have seen many faces come and go - with a handful reappearing after long periods of absence.

When asked ‘Why do you do dedicate (waste) so much time to this activity’ my response is that I find the routine and structure within our little ecosystem refreshingly comforting in a World where so much is changing rapidly.

In real life, I continue to work in a technology related field and am now permanently resident in Umbria, Italy where I am proud to be a ‘Britaliano’ (Italian Tax, ID Card and Health Service and UK Passport). I served for 22 years in the Regular Armed Forces and retired in 2001.

Here are some 'facts', one of which is not quite true...

A. There is a recurring character in the latest series of ‘Harry Jones’ novels by Michael Dobbs (now Lord Dobbs of Wylye) based upon me.

B. There is only one trophy competed for at the National Rifle Association Imperial Meeting that is constructed in solid gold; I have won it TWICE.

C. Princess Anne - whilst I did get to dance with the Colonel in Chief - the match between the two Regiments was in fact a draw - Anne was far too streetwise to allow one to triumph over the other and so ensured that the competition ended as a three-all draw…..

D. At the age of 21 I attended Parachute Section in Aldershot, but completed the course with a REFERRAL ~ meaning ‘not good enough to pass, but good enough to have another go’. I never did, having decided that Military Parachuting is not for me.

E. In a global listing, I was once listed as the ‘Seventeenth Most Influential Person in the World of VoIP’ - although I suspect that was largely due to my very British English accent in an industry dominated by US English speakers."

So lads, which one’s the lie…?

Last round's Mr Woldy: “A is the lie, my duo streak is only 661 days”...

Congrats to, funnily enough, Certa, Mada, Yosemite and Chemical who successfully called him out.

And the infamous…
