"Snipers" - Love'em or hate'em?

«Snipers», as I like to call them, are players who steal battle hero medals in the last minute of the battle. They spend time in the game to seek out easy “kills” looking through the ongoing wars and battles, try to find anywhere there is little activity or the maximum damage output is low. They wait for the last minute of the battle and do tons of damage to gain that medal. Do you think this is OK?
Snipers are players who fight for their personal gain. They don’t care about the nation their fighting for or the greater good, they are selfish thieves trying to steal the gold, and this week the weapons of mass destruction, from players who’ve earned them. From players who fought hard and made a difference, the real battle heroes. Instead of using their damage (influence) to actually make a difference.
They are dedicated to their work, I’ll give them that. To go through the wars in eRepublik, to find the right “kill”. But when they’ve found it they have to wait till the end of the battle so that they won’t “waste” their damage. To be a sniper is not safe, as there are more snipers out there who have the same goals. Being a sniper in the game is like being a sniper in real life. Your worst enemy is another sniper. They can counter snipe your target and steal the BH medal, which you tried to steal in the first place. They did more damage the last minute then you and you stand there left with nothing but a lot of wasted damage that didn’t do anything.
To be a sniper you have to be a selfish player who is willing to take risks. You can win the extra gold or you can waste bazookas and rockets you’ve saved for to get that “kill”. I believe these players are a part of ruining the BH medal. It should be given to a player who actually fought throughout the battle to make a difference, not a player who jumps in the battle at the last minute. To me a sniper is, and never will be a battle hero.

Its nothing more fun then sniping a sniper😉
Sniping is a part of the game.
Got to keep attention to the batttle all the time, and always have extra energy bars ready if somebody tries to snipe you.
I wouldnt snipe anybody myself. Only reason is if its a important battle and i have to deal dmg to turn the wall.

It is definitely a part of the game, just as sneaking into the congress last minute by collecting enough votes (not talking about using multies though).
Surely it is selfish and more often not part of any common strategy. Getting sniped is not fun - sniping a sniper is a lot of fun.

3 days ago i got sniped out of CH and 2 BH's : P i did total about 96m inf hehe, but i did that inf in favour of an allie country, so eitherway, im happy to have helped, and there is always other fights where i can shine with CH's and BH's while assisting a country etc ; )

The BH medal is awarded to the citizen that has dealt the greatest amount of damage for his/her side in one battle. It is not awarded for doing what's best for the greater good, nor for making a difference.
If the "sniper" deals the most damage, he is also entitled to his prize. Using namecalling such as "selfish thieves trying to steal the gold" is not constructive, it is no more than a display of massive butthurt on your part.
I agree that the title Battle Hero belongs to those that deserve it through hard work and dedication, but the fault then lies not with the "snipers", but with those that issue the award, for it is they who decide who it should go to.
I have not had much trouble with snipers, only four times. It's a bit fun when you notice them, and it's a race during the last seconds of the battle, but it also is a bloody waste of good influence.
Only one of the four succeeded, I say that is pretty good. So to any snipers out there, bring it on😛

Snipers are a race of players in eRepublik like anyother and they're a part of the game, but I want some of my articles to be one sided and a little radical, cause then we get good discussions 😉

Some would call that trolling, but I'm glad someone dares to do what it takes.
Many of your strong tanks is surviving on a bh each day for training, normally they use their dmg in important battles the rest of the time.
Its just about the gold, the cost is high and if you don't want to use a credit card and still be one on the strong guys you need to depend on the BH gold.
Same as KS in an mmo game, rly. And it is not ok.
