[President] State of the Nation Update

Day 2,163, 14:17 Published in Japan Japan by William of Edenbury

Hello everyone, it has been a long couple weeks without enough updates. Unfortunately that is the nature of some of the things the government is having to deal with. By the end of my term there will be a large number of events, both successful and failed, that will finally see the light of day with my last update. Unfortunately I must ask for your patience for now. There are many kinds of wars being waged, both out in the open and in the hidden places that eRep's histories will never record. Unfortunately, secrecy is one of our greatest tools but I will inform you of what we can now.

The war with the Republic of China (Taiwan)

Though it was being presented as a "mistake" and "Training War" by the eRoC government at first, there should be little doubt about the reality of the situation now. eRoC has cut off diplomatic communications and has been tanking heavily in each battle with the aid of its TWO allies. Through the help of our own allies we have been slowing their progress and forcing them to use substantial funds on supplies and COs. For those of you worried about our own plans, the current state of affairs is well within our range of scenarios. Our stocks of weapons and food have been vastly increased while our funds remain high.

Foreign Affairs

This is unfortunately, the area that is the most difficult to give updates in. Diplomacy changes from day to day, if not hour to hour. An example being the potential war between Croatia and China that had shocked the international community and convinced them it would happen only a day or two ago, but was suddenly halted.

Currently, we have stronger ties with our alliance than we have had in months. We have a fully active set of representatives in HQ and have been forging strong friendships with many nations who it could have been said we had no ties with other than being in the same alliance group.

In particular I would like to thank our South American friends in Chile and Peru for always having players able to fight alongside us or just sit in chat and keep things lively during stressful battles.

Domestic Reforms

There were three major reforms that I wanted to attempt during the presidential term. Here is is the situation on them.

Supply Reforms:
The supply reforms for the Military have been put on indefinite hold. Their purpose was to decrease daily spending, but due to the war this would be counterproductive. Instead the Military is receiving supplies in an upgraded format from our supply stocks.

Immigration Program:
This program has been put on partial hold as well. Our Ministry teams are too busy for the time drain that this system's infrastructure would cause due to the war and other developing situations. The reason I say partial hold is because smaller portion of the program were launched. Unfortunately I cannot say which ones as a detailed announcement would lead to people trying to circumvent immigration laws, but if you see some of the new North and South Americans around, be sure to say Hello.

Ministry of Internal Affairs:
This revitalization of the MoIA has been meeting quite a bit of success. A new Multi-hunting manual (access limitations to which are strictly enforced) has been compiled from he experiences of both our own teams and from hunting units from allied nations. The first reports from the team are now rolling out.

Note:
If you are a Military Unit Commander or Party President and want to request a check of your group for multi accounts, feel free to send me PM and the MoIA team will have a report compiled for you in a day or two.

And that's for this update, thank you all for your patience and trust. Believe me, there will be some juicy stories to tell when my term is over 😉
