[Phoenix]Forgiving the Past Means Growing the Future
Dishmcds
To start, I would like to say hello to many of you which I do not know. Over the last two years, with the eventuality of player loss, most of the Indonesians I have known have gone or gotten quiet, bored with Erepublik. I've been a friend to Indonesia for nearly 2 years, and have always respected your up front manner which you take in battle. You've never been afraid to test your strength, and have welcomed healthy competition. I even wrote an article about 6 months ago about how Indonesia was one of the few nations which no one has ever attempted to invade, being the slumbering beast that no one wants to awake.
Now, in our past, we've all got mistakes or transgressions which we may not like from both friends and allies. One in particular been somewhat of a mystery through some leadership issues and other choices made that did not really go with the overall goal of the Alliance or Indonesia. In short, you've been somewhat mad at France since they chose to both dissolve PEACE and fight against Indonesia, a long time ally, in Malaysia.
I understand your frustrations, and admit to some of my own with a few of the previous leadership groups that have led France. They have had some bad luck as well, having their treasury robbed twice, and being run by a computer named Matthieu for a while (and his beloved/slave, or whatever her/its name was). As young people, we must all recognise that we will all make mistakes from time to time, and that we must learn and grow with these mistakes. It's how we mature as people, and how we improve as an Alliance. France will also say that Indonesia tanked against them, which is true. It was a reactionary response from many older Indonesians, which we all realised.
eFrance paid a debt for that, through occupation for many months, and have long since seen how forgiveness can be greatness on the battlefields. We've bled on the battlefield together for as long as I can remember, it's time to move beyond our differences and accept them back home, where they belong.
Overall, before this gets beyond the point: As Nations, as an Alliance, and as People, we cannot move forward and mature without forgiving the transgressions of the past. Indonesia is a proud country, but as people we all make mistakes, and it's time to forgive an old friend, who merely lost it's way for a small while.
Please join me. Please see the reason in knowing that together, with France, we are stronger in every way, and that this is the correct way to go. Let's move forward as people, in our war against true enemies, not old friends.
Sincerely,
Dishmcds
Former SG of Phoenix

true, let there be friendship!
"Let's move forward as people, in our war against true enemies, not old friends."
@koye: But those were different times serving a dishonest President for France. Currently, we're all great friends. We have to make the distinction between the action of people, and the action of a Nation.

But we'll always be watching you for treachery again.
@Dishmcds : what assurance can be given if france betrayed again ?? 🙂
hail phx!
France is completely different now. Don't let the youth of today suffer for the mistakes of the past 🙂
I'm still waiting...
@Iain Keers Thats all well and good, as long as the youth of today don't repeat the mistakes of the past. 🙂
kggg: That's like saying there exists someone hasn't made mistakes before. You're not perfect, you can't expect France to be either. They're a new country from back then, and friendship means we stick by them even if they make a few.
Expecting perfection isn't really realistic for anyone. Ever.
Say NO to eFrance.. grrrr...
As they will from you in return. It's a two way street, which only trust and friendship will fix. 😉
@Dischmcds You're expecting us to trust a country that stabbed us in the back. We are going to have some expectations from them, whoever is in control now. I am willing to give them a chance, but i'll be watching our backs.

Also see that beyond the conceit of any big nation things change. And time goes by bringing new generations of players which aren't aware of the old conflicts between Indonesia and France, and who hold no grudge against eIndonesian. Take a look at our president for example, he's pretty "young". This should be the first stone of the path to reconciliation.
Cheers

@Brassens As I said I'm willing to give France a chance, I've made a lot of mistakes myself, hopefully France has learnt from them.
i think its last change for france to join PHX.

I really hope it's not a mistake from eIndonesia and eHungary as i think it was the best moment for it, after 6 month fighting by your side.
Now eFrance is alone without any alliance and i suppose they should choice his own way as the biggest country said no.... 'cause we all know too that in case of attack, we wouldn't be a priority for Phoenix.
I'm sad, more and more every day and hope young generation could forget one day what happened over a year.
FORGIVE AND FORGET FTW
Together we fight and win!!!

@ Aguellid : maybe Arie dian is in Australia in order to PTO them.
