[PEACE GC] Official Statement about Burgenland

Day 655, 10:24 Published in Hungary Portugal by Arthk

Greetings everyone,

PEACE GC would like to express its official position regarding the conflict between Austria and Hungary about Burgenland. The region originally belongs to Austria and as such should be returned to them.

We are all allies and it would be a sign of respect if Hungary returns Burgenland to Austria. Burgenland does not have any meaningful resources and so the only thing at stake here is the perception that some region belonged to a country some hundred years ago and people want to relive their glorious years. Well, the fact is that Hungary is reliving the times of their empires and then some. Hungary holds regions all over the world obtained fairly in battle against our enemies. Burgenland does not even have the strategical importance it used to have in the past as Hungary has regions in Germany and Denmark to be able to act quickly in Europe, if needed. Burgenland does not bring anything to Hungary anymore. Not even the significance of power. On the other hand, it is an original Austrian territory and it means something to the Austrians. It is their real life home after all.

PEACE GC has assisted Hungary many times before just as Hungary has assisted PEACE GC many times. As recently as last month Hungary was being helped by PEACE GC. One of the reasons for the establishment of PEACE GC was the world war under which Hungary was left with only two original regions. We are sure many of you remember that period and how they felt about another country having a grip on your original lands. We ask you not to force an ally to feel this way. We ask you to return Burgenland graciously. That would mean a lot to Austrians and to your allies.

We would be happy to see Hungary's cooperation in that matter and please consider how much Burgenland means to you and how much it means to Austria.

Best regards,
PEACE GC

PS: We know some people would be upset about PEACE GC posting this article but before you reply, please take a deep breath and think about what we've written above.

UPDATE: Thank you, Hungary, for returning the region to Austria. It was very generous of you and will not be forgotten.
