[Parliament] 30th-31st Session
Speaker of the House
Afternoon gents,
Apologies for the slight delay in publishing this session. The results for the citizenship committee are as follows:-
FightAndProduce - 14
Madelina de Melrose – 13
Killermarine - 3
Frixios of the Clyde - 1
Boaty McBoatface – 1
Yurigavin – 0
I wasn’t 100% certain Madelina wanted to vote for herself but I erred on the side of common sense and assumed she did
😛. Inanycase it was an extremely close election, FaP narrowly winning the post. I’ll open a fresh cit committee message shortly.
Just a reminder that we have 3 days until CP candidates are locked ingame. If you think you have the time for the responsibility then let us know sooner rather than later
🙂
Currently no other proposals, comment ‘ere or drop me a message if you’d like to submit one.
Cheers,
Appleby

Congrats to FaP.
Congrats FaP. Thanks Appleby for the info etc.
is anyone actually running for cp or do i need to threaten you all with a second term?
I don't think they are - either it's this stupid resource wars that is draining the life (or what's left of it) out of the eUK, it's the nice weather and everyone is out sunbathing or simply everyone is virtually eDead.
I might announce im running, get some of the critics to run against me and prompt some activity 😛
perhaps your right. the sun comes out and everyone gives up 😛
Now hold on, we want people running for CP, not fleeing the country! 😛
Mr.Razor has some suggested some changes in taxes that we should discuss:
www.erepublik.com/en/article/euk-economy-3-114--2599706/1/20
I can see his point that, with our bonuses looking like they will be less competitive following the resource wars, a change in taxation may be in order to avoid a mass exodus of companies to other countries with better bonuses, as they can then using our low import taxes to sell in the eUK anyway. What will the upside be to having a company located in the eUK come next month?
Well I wouldn't be rushing to make changes before we know what things will look like in a weeks time. I'm hoping that once we know the new resource, pollution and how company placement all works etc we can get some serious input from many as to what is best and it maybe there will be no upside to having companies located in the eUK.
I think we need to start discussing this now - we don't know when company owners will have to decide where their companies will be located, do we want companies moving out of the eUK before we can implement any changes we might want to make? There's only six days left, and at this point I think it's pretty obvious we won't be getting the maxed out resources of countries like the USA...
I feel unfortunately until we get the lay of the new world it's difficult to be too proactive as we don't know what tax rate will be appealing to those placing companies as we don't yet know what bonuses the UK or our neighbours have, the consequences of pollution, and the true costs of travelling to WAM for the medium to larger suppliers.
We could set a 1% Work Tax rate now... in the hope that citizens will place companies here regardless of our eventual bonuses however unless we made promises that another Congress wouldn't change the rate...it doesn't really change our situation until we have the full picture.
At the end of the Resource War when all the details have been released is when Congress, the Country President, the Ministry of Finance and the UK Public needs to be active in debating how the UK will fit into the new World economy and with Company Placement advice and guidance to fit with the timescales imposed on Company Owners to place their companies.
Our main benefits might be the travelling costs and citizenship implication on WAM on those who'd like to remain a UK citizen and fight in our battles.
Company Placement
You will be able to place your Companies in one or more Regions of your choice, after the event ends. Once a Company is established in a Region, the Company can be relocated for a cost (relocation is subject to constraints that will be announced later on).
Country Productivity
The Country productivity will be calculated using the current formula, as the sum of resources bonuses for each industry. If the region is not linked to the Country capital, half of its resources productivity bonuses will be used in the formula. If the Country has 2 or more Resources of the same type, only one will be used in the formula.
Company Productivity
The productivity of a Company will be computed as the sum of Country productivity bonus and a percentage of the productivity bonus of the Region where the Company is located. Regions will be affected by a pollution factor that is based on the number of “works” done in the Region in the previous day. Basic formula : productivity_bonus = country_productivity_bonus + % of region_productivity_bonus - pollution
Working as Manager
You will be able to work as manager in a Company only if you are located in the Region where the Company is established.
If the Company is in a Region (historical or under occupation) of a country that has an open War with your Citizenship Country, your productivity as manager will drop.
The Work Tax percentage for WAM (Work as Manager) will be the one of the Country where the Company is located. The tax income will be split unevenly between the Country where the Company is located and the the Country of Citizenship of the manager.
If I place a company in another Country with a higher production I could pay higher taxes and get a greater reduction in production because of pollution. But, will the produce be subject to import taxes if it is donated or used as well or placed on the market of a country other than the one in which the country is located?
I have a suspicion even the admins haven't got a clue
