***Official Declaration of Congressional Candidacy***

Day 485, 12:36 Published in USA USA by stargator29

Greetings, citizens of the great state of Iowa. I am here to step forward as a candidate to represent your needs and interests in the March-April Congress. I come before you as a candidate with the gracious support of the United Independents Party, better known as the UIP.

The Past

I was born in Florida in the not so distant past, just before Uncle Sam took the reigns of President. I grew up quickly, as the National Guard took me in as a green newborn and turned me into a knowledgeable, strong, and productive member of society. I am currently serving as Lieutenant & Commanding Officer of the Eleventh Platoon, Second Division – returning the mentorship and knowledge that was given to me by my commanders and friends to the next generation of leaders. Since my days as a recruit, I’ve learned much about the eUSA and her problems. One of her biggest and hotly debated issues was and still is the defensive alliance known as ATLANTIS. After the imposition of the Mexican War fine, many have declared that ATLANTIS has outlived its usefulness. I whole-heartedly disagree. It may be true that we can stand alone, but only among our brethren can we thrive. As a member of Congress, I would support any motion to amend the ATLANTIS charter that will hold all member nations accountable for their actions, as well as ensure the continued prosperity and security of all involved.

The Present

Observation is one of the most powerful tools of the intelligent and learned individual. As such, it has been in the role of observer that I have been most effective. It is in this role that I have come upon my opinions in regards to taxes and the military. On many of my trips to the forums, I often see new perversions of the debate regarding our country’s tax and economic policy. I’m sure I’m quoting several of my UIP comrades when I say that we need not reinvent the wheel. The taxes are the way they are because they have been debated constantly in months past and it has been found that this is the economic strategy that works best for all of us. I find that it makes no sense to use Real World economic philosophies on our virtual economy as, quite frankly, “the two cookies simply don’t crumble the same way.” It any of that ever fails to be true, you have my promise that I will do in all in my power to mend it. War. It’s fun. It’s the point of the game, and the XP and benefits to our businesses are indispensable to our development as individuals and as a nation. As an officer in the National Guard, I’ve made a career out of it. However, I firmly believe that a war poorly planned and poorly waged is a war not worth fighting, and I will not support one that makes a mockery of our brilliant strategists or our allies abroad.

The Future

It’s no secret that I’m a bit younger than some of my peers on the political stage. Some might even say I’m too young. Perhaps they are right. However, I can’t get over that everywhere I look, I see elected officials mocking the mandate given to them by their fellow citizens. There are too many Congressmen who get elected to office unprepared, or who otherwise hinder the instrument of progress that Congress is meant to be. You will get none of that with me. You deserve more than inactivity or ignorance. You deserve someone who will faithfully voice and represent YOUR needs in Congress, Most importantly – If I could offer you only one thing as your Congressman, I want it to be accessibility. I am only where I am today because I had help of some of the most generous and knowledgeable people in the New World. I want that to be my gift to you. No matter what your question, no matter how trivial your concern, I am fully and completely at your disposal. I am here to serve you, not the other way around. Especially you, the younger members of the population; I remember how hard it was after I was born. Let me know if there is anyway I can make your entrance into the New World more amicable. In the interest of transparency, I will also publish my voting record weekly in my paper, The Blue Phoenix. Thank you for taking the time to vote, and I hope to see you all later this month.

Sincerely,
