[NZ] Regarding the NZDF and Pakistan
Myles Robinson
Since certain individuals prefer to break OPSEC, disregard procedure, and immediately set to public conspiracy theories rather than pursuit of answers via civilised conversation, I shall address this here. Before starting, though, I need to announce something called OPSEC. Soldiers are not to talk about their military orders in public; if there is an issue, they are to take it up in the military channels. This is standard procedure in the many of militaries of the New World.
A few days ago, the NZDF approached me with an offer by Pakistan to allow our forces to get some free experience and practice in battle. While the New Zealand Defence Force is small and new, and unable to pack too much of a punch just yet (especially when fighting alongside MPPs such as Serbia) (though soon the Sun will never set on the Kiwi Empire), it was a gesture of goodwill towards our nation to get some free practice with deploying troops in. After consulting with the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, my two deputies, and various other members of the Cabinet on IRC and on the forum, we decided to accept the offer to allow soldiers to deploy there in exchange for free supplies for our forces.
Apart from the fact that our soldiers were receiving free practice even though they won't make too much of a difference in the field, this also was a big step in improving relations and creating a stronger bond with nations such as the United States and those within the Phoenix Alliance, while not really spitting in the face of EDEN. To those conspiracy theorists, I am speaking to you directly and your accusation that those former eAmericans here are just trying to turn eNZ into an EDEN/Brolliance Puppet Nation. The invasion of India is doing much more good for Serbia and Phoenix than EDEN (it's also going to help India). Also, if you look at eUS Politics over the past few months, you'd notice that most of the former eAmericans who live in eNew Zealand tend to be ardent anti-Dioists with a mutual dislike for most of the former eAmericans who live in Pakistan. I assure you that people like our MoD Bradley Reala is not secretly a best-buddy co-conspirator with people like Chocolate McSkittles and Krems the Konqueror.
Additionally, if the eIndians play this right, it could end up being one of the better things to ever happen to them. RL Paki/Indian tensions could be played up for a babyboom-- should be played up for a babyboom. Nothing helps a large country more for a babyboom than an invasion.
I will also note that India approached us with an offer of economic resources in order for us to deploy to help them. The cabinet was fairly unanimous in denying this request, partially because we did not want to alienate so many nations and also because there is currently a lot of distrust in working out deals with India on the world stage right now. With their current predicament, hopefully they change some of their policies and organise better. And, again, BABYBOOM.
Again, let me be very clear: I am under the belief that the end result of this conflict will be better for India than bad for India. Mark this down so I can say "told you so" a month from now.
😛
Anyways, any members of the NZDF who have scruples in this social strategy and war-based game and do not want to deploy for this free practice to improve themselves and help make our military stronger for when the 45 day grace period is over may stay back with no consequences or ill-will. You don't get the free supplies if you do this, though, but there is the option for those of you who feel that NZ should not be training its military at this time. Soldiers may opt out of engaging in this training exercise.
For future reference, the military goals I have set are as follows:
1. Organise Training Wars with the nation of Chile so our soldiers can frequently have fights; auction off RW medals in these TWs to help us and Chile pay for the costs.
2. Secure one MPP with an active Phoenix nation and one MPP with an active EDEN/Brolliance nation to allow for balanced-out fighting.
3. Have troops deployed in two sets to fight on either side of a battle so as to lower Kiwi influence on the final outcome.
Anyways, that's the focus on the Military today. If you have questions, do not hesitate to send me an in-game PM or forum PM, or catch me on IRC in #eNewZealand sometime. I'm more than happy to talk.
I apologize for the continuing technical difficulties with regards to the forums. We are working to improve this and hope to get it remedied soon. (As-of-Publishing: Oh, look, they work again for now).
In summation, Kiwi Sheep are superior to Welsh Sheep.
Love,

Alfagrem: When good comes to India after this, I expect a formal apology in the media.
Also, my Cabinet is not a "small sampling". It contains former e- Aussies, Americans, French, British, Ukrainian, and more eNationalities. And trust me, they don't all get along. Also, the forum was widely-publicized with articles in several medias and posts around IRC. I didn't "set the wheels" in motion or steal the vote. Two former eAussies and one former eMalaysian were also on the ballot.
Furthermore, I strongly suggest you actually do some research before just making off-the-hinge statements. I've never been involved much in the game militarily and have spent most of my time as a diplomat. So, yeah, I totally don't understand the community aspect of eRep. Mmhmm.
1000 YEARS!
In all seriousness, quite a few of the members of our community have had problems with some Dioists. Some of our members in the community have had problems with Phoenix in the past. Some of our members in the community have has problems with EDEN in the past. The one thing that we all have in common, we've had problems.
Will he have problems with groups in the future? Yes. Right now we're trying to become allies with everyone and enemies with no one. Will fighting in Pakistan help in this? Yes. Because EDEN/Bro countries don't like India (India just declared war on the US)and Phoenix countries don't particularly like India either. Can the world form one giant "We don't like India" alliance? Sure why not. It'll be more fun that way.

I guess the consensus of ACTIVE military members in the forum and military IRC channels who are really excited about this fighting opportunity should be shut up so the 1 dissenting voice can have his way.
^Strange! Myles just told me that someone else had also decided to stay at home so either he's lying or you are guilty of hyperbole?
I'll also point out (again) that the pro's and con's of wheter to support nation 'A' over nation 'B' isn't the point here.
"So far like two people have opted out"
I said "like two people"; I was just going out and guessing that maybe one other person didn't want free XP.
one, two, three, minus 5, the entire eWorld!
The fact that a foreign body is paying our national army to go fight for them IS NOT the primary issue, just a secondary concern leading from it.
Alfagrem-
I like the smell of derp too.

It's basically a 'Gamer' Vs 'Society' issue.
There's nothing wrong with taking Pakistan's dime and getting yourself some exp. anymore then it is to start a commune for shared profits, PTO a nation for big profits, Buy a misplaced offer on the markets or seizing any advantage to advance yourself in the game. The same is also true for those who RP themselves as a samurai, spy or religous prophet.
Whatever keeps you playing, keeps you playing.
We're all new as a group and many are strangers to one another. I for one am alot happier today knowing so much more then I did previously about my fellow citizens and how they approach and like to play the game.
Democratic means = Full and free elections amongst those with a stake in the issues upon which the vote is taking place or may lead to.
Popular opinion = The consensus of the available audience or target market to which a question is posed.
The rules tend to be less rigid in the latter and therefore the outcomes can be pre-determined or narrowed by the setting of the question.

Alfagrem, unfortunately when we established a leader my crystal ball was working, so I was unable to determine who would be joining the community in the future. Sorry.
*wasn't
I'm sorry Alfagrem, but we had a vote among those who were working to set up the country at the time. You were not among those people. If you wanted a say, you should of been there earlier. Also, the majority of the active population that is here today was there for that vote.
I support NZ fighting for Pakistan 100%. Pakistan is neither EDEN nor Phoenix, and both EDEN and PHX don't like India. It helps our reputation in the world and doesn't alienate us. Voted.
what Wang said.
I don't think a provisional govermant should be sending our forces anywhere.

Too bad then. That's like complaining that you didn't get to vote in the elections because you only just joined the game.
Seriously, quit the complaining and if you don't like the way the country is being run, vote on it when we next have a vote of some kind. Senate is coming up, get involved in that if you want.
"The results, the voting process, the fact that only 25% of the population actually voted, the acessibility, timing and publication of the voting is already a done deal. Can't change that even if I advocated doing so (which I have not)."
^
I realise that a wall of text doesn't really allow any emotion to be conveyed but there is a difference between complaining and questioning.

I want to be part of the eNZ Army (not SAS). filled out the form but have not heard anything back from anyone. can I get a link so I can participate? (I would find it myself, but had surgery this week and am on pain meds)
Eric Ross: you've been placed, but it looks like your PCO hasn't checked our roster yet. I'll make sure you hear from your PCO within two days--if you haven't heard from your PCO by then, please PM me.
I wanna join the military but i havent heard from them since i submitted the request...plus the official forums is down and i havent used mIRC in a long time...sigh and i wanted to get more involved with this country.

Without it, we cannot become a reliable fighting force.
