[Nyx] INSPIRE ME!
Nyx Lynx
Although people of eWeepublik like their bitter pill administered to them after coating it with a load of horse krap, I am going to just be rather blunt…
I can see some moose disgusting mentality in our country.
I am going to categorically ignore the neurotic behavior displayed by some because indulging in it and trying to make sense out of nonsense is a tragic waste of time.
I have seen worse mental behavior in other countries so the whole drama is not even that mental. It is mediocre at best.
I have also seen real legends who have changed the face of this sad insult for a game.
One in particular has even brought the wigs (admins) to their knees.
I am going to concentrate on positively growing this community and help it scale up. But I want freedom and cooperation from my fellow Canadians to do that.
There are places that stagnate, wither and die. People leave or two click often because they are boRED or they are made to leave by boring people.
I believe in an open environment, not the claustrophobic, territorial reptilian brain environment.
When new people come in, they should be retained and not be driven out. You deffo don’t start a lame competition with them.
Of course the old players have a head start. It is like some dude stands next to the finish line and the other one is asked to run from the start line one mile away.
Just because I am assertive, doesn’t mean every new person will be that way. They hesitate and feel out of place.
I personally can kick you’re a$$ and you will beg for more hehe
😃but that is just me. Someone once told me that I don’t enter through the door like everybody else, I crash the wall, smile and say, “Hi, I am here!”
But you have to bring out the talent in people and empower them. That is what true leaders do.
The highlight of the month seems to be Chance being a Prima Donna with his Mission 69 where he is prancing around dutifully and very excitedly informing everyone that his IQ is 69. Everyone then goes “OOOoooh burn the witch Chance!”
I don’t give a rat’s behind about which party you belong to, how much you hate someone or how long you have been playing the game.
I can see no clear vision for the country. No proper communication. No proper long term strategy. Fighting in the comments, oh yes I see a plenty.
If the gay kitten CP has been abducted by aliens or has fallen head over heels in love with a pretty girl, you have to let him be. Someone else assume position and operate as unofficial CP. Hand it over when he returns.
I see gross underutilization of human resource. Supposedly few of them are working in the background.
What is this pig disgusting background business I hear of in every country I go? Are you an office worker stuck in a cubicle or something?
Some of you background dignitaries can come to the foreground and make us care.
As if I am a noob to this retarded game, I am being told how hard managing things can be. I know it can be hard, which is why you delegate and use leverage. You can grow arithmetically or you can set off a chain reaction and grow exponentially.
Write something that will inspire people. Write something that will make them come alive. Write something that will make us all go wild rawrrr.
Write something that will bring us together as a unit.
Who gives a flying firetruck about your party or my party?
Whoever is with me, let us set some goals for Canada independent of personal agenda.
There are many loser countries that do mediocre useless stuff. We can copy them and make this game resemble RL work or we can lighten up, be free, have fun and create art.
HOW CAN WE MAKE CANADA BETTER?
Write in the comments. Be objective. Don’t give a sh1t who you are. Don’t give a sh1t who I am.
The color of our flag is RED! That is passion, heart, fire, drive, desire, blood, life force! Show some life ffs!
I Love you all,

I really hate politics. In game as in real life. So I can't really make a good contribution for what you are asking.
But you know that I always will support you in everything you empower.
Lots of love !!
And endorsed , of course.
😘 Its not politics. I am just talking about a vision for Canada
"The highlight of the month seems to be Chance being a Prima Donna with his Mission 69 where he is prancing around dutifully and very excitedly informing everyone that his IQ is 69."
Mom thanks for bringing me up in yet another article and keeping me relevant. I almost feel like the Mockingjay.

Tis' the Mission 69 to which you are referring...

yw Chancey!
There is a team hard at work taking care of the war effort, foreign relations, and that sort of thing. They're not doing the work loudly. The reason you don't see it isn't because it is not happening - it's because you're an outsider who has hitched her wagon to McVicker's star, which is probably fun because you get to rabble-rouse and troll and make inflammatory comments about how we need unity and togetherness and no-politics and all that, but which is ultimately just dumping a load of sand into the gearbox.
So.. good luck with that, I suppose. o7
As an independent, I think your talking out your ass. I don't give a carp about the coalition other than it brings some fresh air to the very fishy antics of a near-monopoly government.
I learnt a long time ago that in this game, players who say "ohhhhhh, we are working so hard on really difficult stuff in the background that you couldn't possibly understand" is code for "we are not doing anything."
I'm always appalled when players try to cling to power, only to do nothing with it!
I could go on, but my Xbox 1 has now loaded the next level of Farcry 4 so I wont. Sorry, I mean I have some important secret MOFA work to do.
I didn't say no one could possibly understand or whatever it is you're blathering about. I said an outsider, not privy to the actual machinery of the government, is not aware of what is happening inside it. So saying "youse guys ain't doin nothin" is incorrect.
Throw a little more sand in the gearbox, though, if you like.
It would seem that your obsession with mechanical metaphors and semantics is blinding you. Then again maybe it's just all the sand. The sentiments behind the words are, however, wholly accurate and correct.
It's the same metaphor applied twice - throwing sand in a gearbox is destructive, see. Makes a lot of noise for a bit, then everything literally grinds to a halt.
For the record, I'll admit that the Ministry of Education has been slacking like hell.
I have never mentioned DMV in my article. You just think so because of your bias.
You can't possibly deny the fact that there are no clear updates in the media about the goings-on of this nation which is not the responsibility of any individual or party. The responsibility lies with all us.
You are doing a good job at reminding me that I am an outsider. I might be a bit of on "outsider" to eCanada but I am not an "outsider" to erepublik.
What will the rest of the country do when all things happen in the background? How can we help? How can an "outsider" become an "insider"? Will hitching my wagon to you help?
I don't mean "outsider" as an insult. "Inside" really isn't any better.
😉
I agree with the intent of this article but am suspicious that what I say will be twisted, contorted and other wise trolled. But then again when do I keep my mouth shut? lol
1. FA is paramount. Canada is NOT and island. Once being loud mouthed braggarts that couldn't be trusted to have responsible dealings or cooperation (sorry kids, just the way most everyone saw things), now Canada has the reputation of 'good ally & friend'. Except for the recent screw up voting the no NE down thus continuing the war with UK we've been pretty good international citizens. Even now we benefit from good relations with a positive outcome of being wiped.
We must continue the trend despite a tendency to fall back into old habits. We MUST have communication with allies, friends and our alliance. We must have good communications with our enemies. We must have FA people who keep their finger on the pulse of an international scene that is ever changing and who can relate that information in a timely manner to the leadership so quality FA choices will be made.
2. We MUST develop better communications to our public from all aspects of the political peeps. Parties need to inform, not just pump out hyperbole (2 bit word for 'fulla crap') and dogma (what we believe is right, all others are wrong). Congress needs to get off their dead ass and report back to the public (I count myself as guilty as anyone on this accusation) with a report of what's going on. The CP needs to make sure that the MoD orders are published on a regular basis and updated regularly. No one reads or votes because their is nothing important there when they do look. Ministers need to be passing on information that is not privileged so everyone is on the same page. How do we expect people to 'work together' if they don't even know what we're doing?
3a. Activity in Congress is appalling. People hole up on the in game group message for their party and ignore the forum. There is no real way to create a discussion that has any sense of flow to it other than a forum board. With separate topic threads so a continuous thought can be discussed and all posters can be equally viewed.
New people should be encouraged to speak their mind but at the same time need to take some notes and learn about what's actually going on before going off on a tangent. Everyone should develop their own opinion but really need to base that on facts and not feelings. People that just want to start shit should find a game to play with some 3rd graders.
3b. Activity in the Exec. is actually pretty good. (Our CP vanishing not withstanding.) While not readily apparent to people outside the loop things are chugging along like clockwork. You must understand that the people actually doing the work are not the PR person, that's the CP's job. He's the flamboyant one with the big mouth that got elected. (I'm talking about all of them, myself included.)
We've got a good solid group looking out for our best interest. What is needed is for new blood to learn the ropes, be trained by the best. This has happened some but needs to be expanded.
The above is a draft of what I'll be releasing after Congress election.
Yes, apparently I'm running for CP again. Break out the pitch forks and torches. 😃
Here's an idea which I think should be resurrected, Minster of Information and Propaganda. I think it's one thing that always set my terms above those of other CPs. It's not that we did more work, we just made sure the people knew what we were doing. Say what you want about me doing things to promote myself, but the government's number one job should be self promotion.
Agreed, but I would make one minor change.
#1 job is taking care of business.
#2 job is letting the people that elected you know what that business is.
If the CP's not going to do the PR then someone should be in charge of media.
@dill #1 and 2 are one and the same. A large part of the governments role is informing and engaging the players in a country. That is part of "business" and those who do this badly should be thrown out of office and put to the stocks for flogging.
The time when there were so many players that the government could operate as some elitist "directorate" is long gone. Engagement and mass activity is the only way to play. Giving all 27 active players a role to do at least 5 clicks a day should be a governmental goal.....and I don't mean a job in the rather crass Education Ministry.
Sorry Coltan but I disagree. Perhaps communication to the people is PART of doing business but only after FA and internal affairs. If we let that go to hell what is there to report? We're a spineless bunch of backstabbing hooligans that have no clue how to work as a team? No, I prefer to send a clear signal to allies and friends that we're in this to play. I prefer to follow up on simple programs like providing assistance to new guys who wish to upgrade their TG's. Then when there is something substantive to report do so in a prompt and concise manner. while keeping an eye open for feedback that could help tweak what we're doing.
"Engagement and mass activity is the only way to play."
In my opinion this has always been the way to play. What you are saying is that at one time, given enough players, it was OK to ignore most of them. I am steadfast in the belief that the ONLY REASON to play any game is to have a fun distraction. If it's not that then you've just created busywork for yourself.
There has always been and always will be players in any game who have been playing longer, study the strategy better and have a knack for playing better than others. To disregard those by calling them "elite" and claiming they are not good is to waste a valuable resource. Call me an elite if you like, but I didn't come to Canada to be some half baked has been that clutters up forum threads and comments. If I believe I have a better idea I say so (as should anyone that uses their brain here).
One thing I do not like is anyone that wishes to put down the new guy. Most of Canada is welcoming to them. I've only seen a few times that the "elitist" has been the problem. On the other hand we could do a lot better with something like a mentor program.
Fantastic article, hang in there I'll send someone to help you.
😉 ONE ALIAS VISION.
Nice read as I come up with ideas I will pass them your way.
yes take ur time 🙂
Here is one idea bring back the stock exchange. Fix the bugs and lets bring in investors.
http://wiki.erepublik.com/index.php/ERepublik_Stock_eXchange_%28ERX%29
And insteAd of having a user be the "reserve" let the admins regulate. Its their code to modify.... Just my opinion 🙂
that's very interesting. I wonder if admins will do anything
Most people just like hitting the Fight Button and getting a snack at the end of it.
And no amount of gung-ho will change that in the least bit. Even if they're in political office, a mild wind blowing across the room is reason enough to not log on and "play" this browser game.
Your comments Nyx, should be directed to the developers of the game as to why people don't log on and "give it their all" on this game. Not to those that play it - for which your article is wrongly addressing.
Doing anything else is horribly naive, and I feel your efforts are, unsurprisingly, falling on deaf ears.
It was a good article, but I don't believe you really understand the various motivations players have towards this game.
Again, talk to the developers or start a petition for aspects of the game you want to see change. You really can't expect the Players of a game to do something to make the game more fun, that's the developers job.
Ofc the admins are killing the game. I have been quite vocal about that.
But I disagree about everything else you said. In the given system, there is a lot that can be done to get people interested. I am not attacking anyone that is playing. Just because I belong to a party that is currently not ruling doesn't mean I am against the parties that are currently working.
I, on the other hand, am trying to simply set a collective goal for Canada, It is simple and logical.
And to be honest with you, when I have been in charge of a country in the past, even the dead ones came alive. Different people get motivated by different things.
Hey, if no one else gets motivated, at least I do.
eRep is a "fancy" forum that utilizes cow-clicker mechanics. The only motivation is through a skinner-box environment. You should think twice about what exactly is motivating you and judge wither it is worth your time or not.
People come and go and every once in a while someone stands on that milk crate to announce to the eWorld that things are going to change and get exciting. But I find they always fall short, and that's because the world itself doesn't have what is required to facilitate that persons charisma.
Again, deaf ears. The devs will not change this game to be anything else other than what I've defined it as in the first paragraph. You may have taken part in running an eCountry, but I've worked IRL in the game industry.
If you want to make a splash, I suggest you download Steam and play a free-MMO.
well I am an entrepreneur in RL too and from a young age have been around entrepreneurs. I am heavily into the technology industry, software in particular. I have been part of startups that have been hugely successful. I have led teams and worked with people from different backgrounds. I don't really put all my skills into practice when it comes to erep lol. I just have silly fun and also play dumb many times.
And I still disagree on the motivation part. This game is shit, I have never denied that, The coding is below par, their business ethics make me cringe. And I am very aware that I am wasting my time but I am somewhat good at time management but I do concede that erep is a pointless waste of good time. It is a bad habit that I must shake off.
