[MOMC] Let us be silent no longer.

Day 1,714, 05:19 Published in India India by ArawnLives

We declare a craven peace when war comes knocking on our doorstep, without there seeming to be any discussion with the national community at large. But this is the wisdom of our cabinet and our leaders - and no one can doubt their commitment or their experience in making eIndia great.

But a vision tempts me - a notion, an idea just beyond the pale of possibility - the prospect of an eNation that doesn't just exist, but lives in the imagination of this eWorld - that stands tall amongst its peers, that doesn't crave recognition but expects and receives it.

What can we do to achieve that end?

We already are getting up to 10 players a day. Even if we were to be extremely critical and assume that even 8 were multis, that still leaves 2 newborns, the potential future of our eNation - and we have little or nothing for them in terms of guidance.

Sure, we've had mentorship programs before. In fact, I was supposed to be helping with one. But there is no way to remove the chaff from the grain, and the intended and required level of effort for guidance is too much to bear for any number of users without systematic support and engagement.

We need to revisit our New Citizens Message. We need to revisit our Military Unit policy, and try to make it so that new players can be funneled into a system wherein we don't just point them in the direction of #indianarmy and expect them to grow in this eNation. How are they to know to build bigger and better town centres so that they needn't log in every hour? How are they to know to save bazookas and energy bars? How are they to know that interacting in the media is important?

Even ATOs and PTOs are a numbers game. And while we proudly strut our ATO record (and deservingly so) we need to keep being successful. They need to get lucky once. And they might be despicable little trolls, but if they succeed, all hell will break lose.

We need a more active discussion on our policies, and we need to involve more people. I don't mean, by this article, to criticize any regime or cabinet or administration. We're suffering a circumstance we could not have predicted. But now that it is upon us, our future depends upon how soon we react.

We lose Ashwamedh soon. We need to, now, regain our own national conscience for our old repository is leaving to RL, too tired to fight the good fight alone.
