[MoI] NHS Report (Day 2799/2800)

Day 2,799, 12:52 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Max Blue
NHS stands for 'National Health Service'. Ingame this helps players by providing them with free health, much like the real life NHS does with healthcare on a free-at-the-point-of-access basis. I will explain the basics of what it is and does as well provide a detailed report on how it is operating and the resources it has today.

What does the NHS do?

The NHS hands out food to those that need it. It is totally free, the only requirements: you are a UK citizen and under level 32.

How does it work?

The NHS supplies 10 energy (ie. x1 Q5 food or x5 Q1 foods) per 1 experience point gained. So, if you work once (+2XP) and train four times (+2XP X 4 = +8XP) your total XP gained will be 10XP. This means you will be given 100 energy (10 Q5 food or 50 Q1 food).

Example 2:

1 work (+2XP) + 4 trains (+8XP) + 50 fights (+50XP) = +60XP = 60 Q5 food

Here is someone that I supplied today (patient confidentiality still maintained).

Food is handed out to players by a team of organised suppliers. Once each day a supplier will check players current XP against the XP the player had last time they were supplied. If the XP has increased, the supplier will send food to the player (as detailed above). If there is no XP gain (and therefore no use of food) the supplier will not issue food on that day. However, if the player logs on later in the day they will not miss out on the food, as they will receive a larger supply than they normally do the next day. If players who are getting supplied don't receive any food for 48 hours they should contact Madelina de Melrose or Dr Kawishiwi and food will be backdated as everything is recorded on a google document so it can be seen if you have not be supplied.

How many people does the NHS supply?

Currently there are 35 people who are in the NHS database and they get supplied when they gain XP. However there are many more players who are eligible (UK citizens under level 32) that are not currently receiving support. If you are reading this and are eligible apply for support (information below).

If you are reading this and not eligible post the link to this article in your party feed and military unit feed and encourage those in your group(s) to sign up and get free food daily until they reach level 32. There is absolutely no reason not to.

How can I get free food daily?

Click on the link here and fill out the form. Or sign up in the comments section by posting something like 'sign me up'. Posting 'voted' or sign me up in another language is not going to do you much good.

😉

How much money and resources does the NHS have?

Right now the NHS has:

- 188,358.37 CC
- 27675 Q5 food
- 9000 Q7 food
- 3000 Q4 food

All of these figures are very accurate as Madelina de Melrose records everything in a separate google document from the suppliers one, so there is always one person who knows exactly what the finances are.

How much food does the NHS issue per week?

It is difficult to say because each week is different. Some weeks players are more active than others. This can be for a variety of reasons such as school, holidays, players being at work/not at work, UK wars being on, lots of important allied wars and other factors. It varies a lot but Madelina guestimates an average would be in the region of 6000 Q5 food per week. In reality it is like asking how long is a piece of string... some weeks a lot gets handed out, other weeks a lot less.

Every last bit of food issued gets recorded.

I have added up yesterdays figure which came to 1561 Q5 food. The day before came to 300 Q5 food and the day before that came to 2946 (Q5 food). So you can see it fluctuates a lot. Some of this fluctuation in the daily figure is caused by the times the players were online and the times the suppliers were online but this still demonstrates that there are large spikes (depending if people are fighting on mass or not).

How does the NHS keep track of all money and resources?

Madelina keeps a very detailed spreadsheet outlining all income and expenditure it goes back to when she first started issuing food a couple of years back. All items in stock are listed and all purchases made listed with prices. It takes up a full Excel workbook. Madelina: 'I could put it on gDocs, but I don't think I could get it all in one doc, and I don't want anyone changing the numbers but me so I know exactly what has been done and when.'

NHS transparency

The NHS is transparent in that anyone who wishes to view the NHS workbook can. Send Madelina de Melrose your RL email address, and she will put you on the list of those who can see the document (but not edit it). She will also provide the figures to anyone who asks. The NHS has been doing this for a number of years now and I can't think of a single instance where any funds or supplies have gone missing.

Hopefully you have found this helpful. The NHS is not part of the government, but I thought as Minister of Information I should try and bring you an article breaking down what the NHS is, and what it is doing.
