[MoHA] Weekly Press Release and Caption Competition

Day 3,799, 04:43 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by eUK Home Office

Weekly Press Release - Sunday 15/04/2018.

Good afternoon everyone, this week has seen big updates in the world of Foreign Affairs concerning goings on with Croatia so is a good place to look to get a brief idea of whats gone on, alongside updates from the other ministries.

It’s a good idea to subscribe to this paper to follow the updates and games published by the MoHA.

Ministerial updates

Prime Minister/FA - Jamesw:
“So another week down, another week of progress completed! Some will note the temporary lull in our TW. Essentially, the Romania-Croatia war forced our hand, and to ensure that there was less tension between various occupiers of the USA, I took the decision to remove Croatia from the equation; whilst Asteria and Andes have both wiped the US, there is no love lost between the two sides, and allowing Croatia or Hungary to have a border with Romania is not only against our interests (as they would undoubtedly open a war to drain damage to help Greece), but it's also against the interest of Andes/Asteria, as any squabbling between the two sides in American regions increases the likelihood of the US getting on the map. I took this decision full in the knowledge that Croatia had French regions, and thus our TW would not be over indefinitely, just gone for a few days. The Natural Enemy law has been proposed by both congresses, and tomorrow Croatia will restart it by attacking South East of England. To ensure there's no further Croatia-Romania border, the new TW regions will be: SEoE, WM and NWoE; but to ensure as little disruption as possible to UK company owners, Resistance Wars in these 3 regions will be started and successfully won in straight rounds.

Thus, production will be unavailable in each region for ~40 hours for an undetermined period of time. Anyone who has companies in these regions should consider moving them anyway (as none of them have prime production), but for those that don't/can't, we'll minimise disruption as much as possible. There's messages going out to create a Tuesday EPIC team to ensure that as many brits as possible are taking advantage of EPIC battles for free Prestige points; so keep your eyes on your inbox!

Regarding foreign affairs, this week has seen a few interesting wars, and a few interesting developments outside of the Andes vs Pacifica vs Asteria war, which I summarised here and here - they're well worth a read if anyone hasn't been paying attention.

Outside of that, there seems to be a general consensus amongst Andes, Asteria (and to a degree Pacifica) that America is a lost cause. They were officially wiped from the map, and now sit with 0 regions. There seems to be little, if any, effort to free them from their occupiers, and Pacifica nations have focused their damage helping Russia. As all the Pacifica nations currently involved, or with the potential to get involved in the war, have a chunky stack of Asteria MPPs, I sincerely doubt that there will be any sustained effort to free the US from Asteria; they will probably try to free Croatian and Irish regions instead to get the US on the map for congress elections.

All HQs are going through their election cycle, so the lull could also be indicative of new faces getting to grips with their alliance structures and beginning planning, but as soon as the new HQs are elected and announced I'll release an article with some analysis on what this could mean for the world too.”

Minister of Finance - Huey George & Spite:
“The MoF has continued with the recording our daily snapshots of the economy eUK to add to the long-term records and managing our Government and BoE Trust Monetary Market Investments. We will be publishing a Financial Report shortly.

The MoF will be publishing a full report in the near future so keep an eye out for that.”

Minister of Defence - Dave Trenga:
“In MoD news, we have continued our TW with Croatia and seen the whiping of USA. A beautiful sight indeed. MoD also announced the Air Rankup rewards this week and have published articles with orders. On sunday will be our weekly National Strike.”

Minister of Home Affairs - Mr Woldy:
“Great Scott has been plodding one is is entering it’s final ‘stage’ Sir Jimmy has begun putting together guides to fill the gaps of what the MoHA currently provides for, and along with material produced by Jw and Spite will help form a complete repertoire of new player guidance to be referenced in the new player message. Joshinius and the wider ministry have been working on game ideas for Johnny public to play!”
