[MoFA]Update on IRE-TR issue

Day 1,656, 04:38 Published in Ireland Ireland by Irish Foreign Ministry

As we announced a couple of days ago with this article we contacted Turkey to talk about relations between the 2 countries and as we promised we are now informing our community about what has been discussed.

Yesterday the first step towards opening communication with Turkey has been made. People from the Irish government have talked with the Turkish CP and one of the Turkish MoFAs and the confusion that was made a few days ago by one Irish congressman has been solved and already forgotten.

We know that in the past a few Turkish players have fought against Ireland but we will not blame the whole country because of only a few because we also know that Irish soldiers have fought against Turkey as well in past. We just have to put an ending to this madness.

For now, Turkey will respect the fact that Ireland will NOT fight against Bulgaria because of the long standing respect we have for our friends but NEITHER will Ireland fight against Turkey because Ireland, more importantly, respects all members of EDEN. When there is a war between Turkey and Bulgaria, Ireland will continue to stay neutral without harming any of the countries involved in this war and causing more problems for the Brotherhood of EDEN and also respecting our long time friendship with Bulgaria.

Both Turkey and Ireland also agreed that the MPP between our 2 countries can wait a little longer and we will not sign it right away. Neither of us are rejecting the MPP but we both think it would be better if we gave some more time each countries congress, allowing them think about it and discuss it further before we sign it.

This was only the first step made and I would really like to thank the CP of Turkey and the Turkish MoFA for their understanding and the way they handled this sensitive situation between our countries.
