[MoEd]New Player's Guide to the Military Module - 2

Day 5,685, 14:08 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Department for Education

Today we are going to learn how to fight smart. In our previous article we covered some of the very basic parts of the military module: how the damage works, the different kinds of rounds, and of course, how wars are won. Today, we are going to delve into the world of how best to fight.

First and foremost, we need to remember that whilst there are two forms of fighting (air and ground), both work the same way by rewarding Domination Points to the side in the lead, which determines who wins the Round and so gains Campaign Points. Regardless of whether you are fighting in Air or on Ground, the elements broken down below will be the same (only the vehicle and background image will change).

You will note from this battle page, a couple of important things;
1) The first 90 minutes of war gives an equal number of points to the final 30 minutes of war.
2) There is no additional point scoring within a battle for winning by any high percentage. Whoever has more than 50% scores points.
3) The amounts of damage involved in wars, are rarely low: so for ground rounds, new players rarely have the resources to influence the course of a battle.

Thus, most seasoned troops have a very simple few rules, that have been packaged together, and termed fighting smart.

1) Never waste your damage: if the wall is over 55% (as shown in the picture below), and your energy isn't full: think about holding your damage (not fighting yet.)

2) When deciding if your damage is needed. Remember, if trying to fight in a meaningful battle outside of a training war to check the total damage done and see whether it will influence the current fight - so if you're a new player - fight for your own missions, not a victory.

3) Before you hit, make sure you are fighting in an important, or recommended battle. The Government, The President, and your Military Unit all have ways of recommending battles; make sure you're fighting in line with these priorities. These are all visible on your homepage and fee😛

To ensure that your Military Unit priorities are displayed to you at all times, it's necessary to change your eRepublik display options, but it's very quick, and very easy. Edit your game options here, so that they look like the picture shown below, and then your Military Unit priorities will be displayed on your homepage without you needing to navigate to any other page.

Outside of this, the final way to fight smart is quite simple: wherever possible, fight only in air battles. The Government has regular campaigns to reward those who do, not only because it's a relatively new way of fighting in the game (when compared with the ground rounds, which have soldiers who have been building strength for 10 years already), but also because the formula used to calculate damage is much fairer - air rounds only take account of your rank: so if you gain a rank which is the same as someone 10 years older, you'll do the same damage. You gain rank by fighting: so the more you fight, the quicker you'll catch up with the older players. As well as that, an air round gives double the campaign points of a ground round! For further information on the programs which reward players for fighting, and the additional rewards given to players who focus on air rounds, you can read the details about such programs in the previous article but I will include the links again below.

Those services providing food and weapons are:

Energy via the NHS - Message Select28
Energy from Bupa - message Mr Immanuel Kant
Free Guns from Bupa - claimed through Spam PUBLIC ACTION! Mag
Free Guns from Harvey - claimed through TUPaware
Free Guns from the MoHA Giveaways on election days.

This information is correct as of Summer 2023, but do check with the Government of the day if you are ever unsure.
