[MoE] PTO's 101

Day 1,722, 04:37 Published in Pakistan Pakistan by Sparkfyre

A.A, everyone!
As the Minister of Education in the new cabinet, I would like to extend my formal congratulations to our new Country President, Ishamaelnaeblis! 🙂

For my first article in the new position, Ishamael suggested that the topic of PTOs should be addressed.
New citizens are encouraged to participate actively and for them to perform well it is important they have an understanding of critical issues.

PTO's are one such issue.

Back when the dragons ruled and knights were scarce, in the Beta and V1 times; political parties of most countries were easy prey.

In that era of eRepublik, every player was simply the citizen of the eWorld and not of any particular country. There were no country boundaries and any citizen could participate in the elections of whichever country they happened to be in.

And, of course, where there is such freedom...there is always an equal amount of abuse.

Organised groups could move to another country and overthrow a government by taking over the elections by their vast numbers. And new countries, those budding shoots, were the first to be trampled on since they comprised of low populations and were given free currency and gold by the Admins.

Like bees to a honeypot, PTOers would swarm around to gain access to the bounty!

Those were dark times...

Now we have grown civilised, we are encumbered with the greviously sombre task of maintaining democracy.

Unlike the general perception, democracy is not about wearing pompous suits and a lot of waving and shouting on the podium.
And no, pompoms, funky badges and election parties isn’t the right answer either.

It is infact the ultimate version of musical chairs.
Here the rules, however, are slightly different. So its not just the whimsical hand of chance that places the players in their respective seats but a whole organised system. Here each chair has a status and responsibities that go with it and a lot of candidates vying for it.
All of them in their respective hierarchies aim to manage the country in accordance with the interest and wishes of people.

It all sounds according to the plan doesn’t it? Every population in their right mind would choose what’s best for their country, right? They would suggest laws and regulations that would enable their dreams of leading their country to the optimum level of prosperity.
The cabinet would consist of a mix of young and new. The youth taking heed from the experience of older bards and leading towards new advancement with fervour and dedication.

But alas! The modern world prides in its slyness...
And the threat of PTO's has only been reduced, not eliminated. It continues to masquerade under a veil of underhanded foul play! And new citizens can be drawn into the lies with false promises of riches and unfounded accusations towards the country's own government, so BEWARE!

But what exactly are the repercussions of a PTO?

Well, it would start simply, with a few foreigners applying for citizenship in an eCountry. The congress may accept their applications without knowing that those citizens have an ulterior agenda.

Those citizens, with about 7-10 votes, could then easily secure a position for one of their members on the congress. And, in turn, that congress member will have the ability to grant citizenship to a dozen more of the similar genotype. Who can later run for congress and repeat the process till their members grow so strong that they can elect one of their own as CP... all in the space of just a 3/4 months!

One example is of Russia, where it's future was decided by 2000 votes....cast by the opposing side! And the actual Russians were a MINORITY in the election!

This is NOT what we want for ePakistan.

Even now, there are groups of PTOers in our country, such as the Croatians and the Ukrainians whose presence could lead to a major threat to our national interests.
Advice to new citizens: avoid them at all costs!

Sometimes, it is one of the countries OWN that begins coup and enables PTOers to come into control. Treacherous, I know, but it has happened. The reasons vary...discontent, greed, lust for power... but nothing, NOTHING, justifies the deception.

I believe our new citizens will do ePakistan proud. From what I have seen they are motivated and active; with the guiding hand of the senior players we can be assured of a pure ePak government without PTO infiltration.

Any suspicious suggestions or bribes should be reported in immediately, that is the duty of every ePak citizen. What is Respect, Honour and Loyalty against any amount of gold you may earn?

Be true to Yourself, be true to ePakistan.
