Ministry of Education

Thanks for deciding to answer a few questions. How's it going?

Molly Jo
I would be better, but I think I sprained my foot on my morning run, but otherwise I'm in a good place in my life I think, don't want to jinx it.

Foxfire
Excellent. No complaints.

Crisfire
Things are good, the Jays are playing well and Im producing healthy bowel movements.

How have the first weeks as CP been

Molly Jo
Exhausting, because as I've admitted I ran to fill a spot on the ballot, so I wasn't expecting to win, which has made balancing the CP job with my real job an incredibly tiring process, and in truth the CP job probably gets less attention because, no offense to eCanada, being CP doesn't pay my bills

How have the first weeks as Cabinet Member been?

Foxfire
Very positive. Molly Jo is not the most active CP, but has managed to be incredibly successful at delegating. For those that have sat in the big chair will know, it’s very easy to get burned out as CP. Molly Jo appears to have found a good balance of in game activity to both run the country and prevent rage quitting. Her cabinet is working together nicely and I suspect the term end quietly, but successfully. Not something we see very often in our typical eCanada environment of high drama and eye gouging.

How have the first weeks with a new CP been?

Crisfire
Good I guess, im always advocating a war, a war with anyone, anytime and anywhere so this little dust up with the UK is ok in my books. For someone that really wasnt supposed to win and im not sure she even wanted to she has taken up the post and for the most part, so far, delivered a smidgeon above average term, not the best but certainly not the worst and she has time left. Id like to see more media stuff and efforts to increase interest and player retention but thats a tall order in a choking game.

Do you feel that eCanada is in a strong enough position to go to war with the eUK?

Molly Jo
I believe if we put in our best effort, and work well with out allies we could hold our own, however we could also easily get our butts handed too us.

Foxfire
This war is currently running on the reserves of our fighters, not the country’s treasury COs as we usually proceed. Although we are not as prepared for this attack, we need to be in a state of war to continue to build our country’s strength.

War is a necessary component to a successful country. It promotes activity and generates the necessary demand for market materials that keeps the economy limping along. To keep ourselves strong we need to seek an active state of war, between periods of recovery.

eCanada has always punched above its weight class in a fight, but we’ve danced this dance before and we know how it will end. Either a deal will be reached and we go back to our own corners, or we will be earning TP gold next week. We have been able to make this situation work to our advantage time and time again, as I am sure we will do once more.

Crisfire
I guess, doesnt look like we are supporting it financially but thats ok as long as people are getting TP money. I think the alternative is much much worse, no war especially over a few months is terrible for player interest and player growth.

Anything specificly government related (i.e. programs, etc.) in the works at the moment?

Molly Jo
Nothing special, just the typical government stuff, MoD Orders, working on getting an Org for the MoE again, welcome message stuff, wondering why it's always Garry Carter lol.

Foxfire
The Nest Egg Act has secured one hell of a rainy day fund. I can’t recall the last time eCanada was able to sock away that kind of security. Finances are running at bare bones, but deliberately so to provide tax relief in the wake of the 10% work tax. Given that the MPP stack is being successfully maintained, it’s a solid financial platform.

Crisfire
Im not in the executive but on the congress side we are discussing a new welcome message for new players and ive tabled a amendment to the Charter which i believe strengthens the Speakers role on the forums and adds structure, lets Speaker decide if enough debate time has passed and disposes of the ability for article proposals,no one did it and it has many disadvantages.

Anything you want to tell he eCanadian public?

Molly Jo
Lame as it might sound, I hope we as a country can stay united. And sorry if I'm a horrible writer.

Foxfire
Phantasmagorical.

Crisfire
To the twenty'ish readers Id say keep with it, this game had a golden age in which literally hundreds if not thousands of people played in eCanada, top party had around 500 members if memory serves. The game has changed but it was the community that made it fun, it was the drama, intrigue and accomplishments that made it fun and it was the villians and good guys that kept things rollin. While we play maybe we can increase our population one player at a time with sound programs and a healthy dose of what made the game interesting in better times.
