I nominate Janty F. We have our differences, but I believe he is one of the few putting a load of work in the political arena. Always ready to discuss new matters in Congress. Open for bringing revolution to the system. Also one of the team who put effort in reducing the Lawbook in complexity. Great respect for your work.

Janty F - for showing up in our country and activating it in the form of programs, discussions & hard work (unlike the same old who are still in positions of power but have failed so in the past).

For 'Best new politician' I'd like to nominate eRepTrader, who (despite already being around for some time ofc) rose to prominence in the first half of the year as Minister of Finance and in general as active Member of Congress.

I think we have four "young" politicians that deserve a pet on their back. They are all young in different ways.

NoTie112 - Who recently returned back from the dead. For his help in the last few governments, work on the law book and taking up the reaponsibility for the Monetary Market project.

Janty F - Who joined our country not long ago and is new in our community. He has shown great enthousiasm hyping the community in order to increase activity. He has been great at the ministry of defence managing all the Flying Dutchman issues.

eReptrader - Who like NoTie112 said above joing the government as MoF a while back and did a very good job managing our financial ledgers updating the sheets to match the current tax reporting system.

Legendardisch - Who became the first CoC in a long time to share his vision on the position and manged to break through the exclusive use of forum when it comes to debates and votes. The weekly Congress reports (co-created by Tim Veltkamp) were a good way of informing the rest of the community.

Can we nominate Bo Kito?

I will have to go with Shawtyl0w on this one - while we see many great politicians appearing lately (the author of this article being one of the most shining examples), we also need to take into consideration months before that... and even though I was not in Netherlands during those time, I know Shawtyl0w has been working to keep this country going. And he still does so, even though he is on his third (?) month of retirement... so, easy choice for me.

NoTie would end as close second in that race, as keeping finances in order, while also heavily expanding on idea of monetary market takes a lot of work, which is not often visible to our citizens and which is never praised enough. Thank you!

In terms of Rising Stars - well, there is a plenty of them. As I said above, the author of this article is certainly one of the most visible ones, and I hope to see more of his ideas around (even though sometimes I might look at them in angry way 😶 ) . There is certainly a potential. In DemNL, I also see some promising people, who I hope will keep growing and showing us more (I will name Mark Decius and our beloved Keykeeper (though he is not really a rising star, he is here for quite some time 😃 ) as two of them. )

Politician of the year I'd say would be difficult as 2 names pop to mind. Shawtyl0w for his never ending enthusiasm and his gift to be able to get along with anyone which makes him one able to make the difference.
However also NoTie pops to mind as its him that woke up again at the start of the year and once again putting in a large effort to finally initiate change when it comes to the power forum has over the game and starting to work on giving back taxes more to the players rather than stack them all. Especially the first is something that has been tried several times over the past years but it looks like it might succeed this time as the first changes indeed have been made in lawbooks. Once that is done people might indeed get to see more of it.

That said I think I would go for Tonie as if he succeeds it will have a huge effect on the game in our society as is visible already by the active gov programs, They are not all thanks to Tonie, he had help naturally but he was the engine behind it.

As for new politicians;
eReptrader is mentioned and indeed he did help Tonie with the finances and ways to use taxes for the players. However his term was short and the effect not yet really visible I think.
ElGorro ain't new whether he call's himself ElGorro or would change his name.
Mark Decius isn't new either I believe.
As new (Dutch) politician although short I'd say Janty is the one that deserves the nomination. If that's realistic I would not now however as he's no new politician either and therefore IMO does not qualify either.

So who would I nominate? I don't know. It might well be people like MDSanderson who became CP for the first time or eReptrader for becoming MoF a few times are the ones to qualify but I don't find the things they accomplished weigh enough tbh to call them rising stars.
