Dear Citizens of The Netherlands,

I am running for president and this is my manifest!

It is a part of the total balalaika show. "The concert took place on 12 June 1993 on Senate Square in Helsinki, Finland. The event drew a crowd of approximately 70,000 people from two nations - Finland and Russia - that had been engaged in a state of "peaceful coexistence" during the Cold War."

It was quite an interesting concert if you consider that most of the Finnish people had/have a deep rooted hate for Russians on the other hand it is also extraordinary that the proud red army would allow their official choir to perform with a band like the Leningrad cowboys who's sole existence is a satire on the Russian ways and as a cherry on the cake ... they stared singing sweet home Alabama which is a really American song.

The point I want to make with this is that when you throw all conventional rivalism overboard something really fun can come of it and that is exactly what I am trying to do!

Main plans per ministry this term;

Ministry of Defense
I would like our soldiers to be brothers in arms again like in the "good old times", soldiers of the state should "wear" a (personisable) Dutch army avatar and (IRC) activity should be rewarded with supplies.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs
We should focus on our diplomatic relations with Canada and Poland, besides that I would like to strengthen our relation with the Belgians who seem to have become our rivals since the fall of the United Netherlands, I'd like to work towards a lasting friendship.

Ministry of Finance
My plan for the Ministry of Finance is ... to let Weekstrom do his magic.

Ministry of Home Affairs
I'd mainly like the MoHA ministers to slap me when I am breaking any laws, besides that they regulate the people that are returning to the Netherlands. Since Canada is our "Home" now I'd like Daniel Parker to have close contact with his Canadian counterpart.

Minister of Information
I'd like Elgorro to keep informing our (new) citizens about the various matters the government would like them to know about.

Ministry of Trout
The ministry of trout is going to ... I have truly no clue but it was a promise I made some time ago, I hope it will be fun!

The main words for my presidential term will be "Unity, Transparency and Friendship"

I have one moderate complaint: Why should we trust someone who swoops in to run for CP after not being an active part of our society for over a year?

I very much dislike the idea of a carpetbagger coming in to make profit off of what the rest of us worked hard in achieving for the past year. You haven't been here nor did you truly suffer through what we had to do this past year. Anyone who doesn't know you is going to ask this question. Personally, I feel it is a very legitimate question that is quite difficult to answer.

Otherwise, I know you will be a good president. I think you have more then enough experience and willpower to get things done and mend the gap between the main parties. You do have a past with NL that is commendable, even if I don't know most of the details. The problem still comes down to asking why we should trust you when you come in after being gone for so long. I hope you can come up with a very persuasive response because if not, then I don't see why anyone should vote for you, regardless of your qualifications.

Also, in the past ElGorro and van Spijck have vowed to never work together in the same government. It would be great if you can get them to get over their childish tantrum.

It is a good question, you might know that I've already been around for 5 years, I have spend most of the first 2 years in (U)NL and had about every government function thinkable, I got bored and moved to eIndonesia and made a lot of friends there. When Poland attacked I took Dutch citizenship again to tank with NE bonus, I stayed about a year in occupied Netherlands and was elected as president, in my term I freed the Netherlands from Poland but unfortunately it was occupied again near the end of the term. A few months later I again moved to Indonesia and later Turkey to find us some true allies and I found them, back in the days my Indonesian friends have been doing a lot of damage for NL. After this period I kept countryhopping but mainly for anti-takeover reasons, the last country I was in Denmark (only 30 voters) before I returned to the Netherlands.

This statements hurt me, I have always been a part of the society, you just have to know where to look, the IRC is my home as it always has been. I have always invested all my gold and time fighting for NL and I grinded my teeth over every NE Poland put upon us...

I thought I would lay it out fully just to show what I mean. Maybe you have still been here for us, I know you have been for some parts, but it is important for you to highlight exactly how so myself and others who don't know you very well can fully understand what you have done.

It would be marvellous if you would have both ElGorro and van Spijck on board and keep them there until the end of you're term. I tried to get them both together when I ran but in the end I didn't manage to do so 🙁

You sure know how to make an entry...

But actually, rather opposite to what Aries seems to be thinking, I think we need an experienced president, who has not been involved in Dutch politics the past year. We need someone who can connect with all our nation, without people claiming he is from the "other side". I hope you can reunite our nation. As far as I'm concerned, everybody should respect each other, even though noone's perfect. There are no barriers we cannot overcome.

And yes, even though you weren't eDutch, you definitely were always around. A year ago you've organised a RL meeting. You've been mentioned a few times as our link to the admins. And you definitely were there on IRC. 🙂
