[LO] eMalaysia, Where Are We Going?

Day 910, 14:47 Published in Malaysia USA by Liquid Oxygen

Ladies and Gentlemen, a short introduction to all the new ecitizens in our tightknit little community here. My name is Liquid Oxygen, former Commander of the NA Squadron of the Tentera Darat, former eUS Mobile Infantry and lastly and certainly not least, former Supreme Commander of SolDiers.

My eretirement location. Purty, ain't it?

The reason I've begun writing this article is the recent uproar involving our governmental structure. I'm not sure when the trend regarding staying quiet and not voicing our opinions as individuals started, but I must say I don't like it a bit. When I first stepped off the plane back in December from the eUS, one of the most striking things I noticed about my new home, (other than the gorgeous girls and beaches,) was the fact that the political community was vibrant and alive, but no one ever attempted to silence individual opinions.

Redang Island. An awesome spot to plunk down a Q5 house for old soldiers.

The protest recently stirred up some bad juju from a few of the newer players and a few old ones that should know better by now. C'mon guys! Since when is communication with the people we put in charge EVER a bad thing? We're an open democracy within reason, not a closed oligarchy like the eSerbian community claims we are! I want to make this very clear for those of us who might be confused by the message I'm attempting to convey. I will NOT sit by and tolerate ANYone who attempts to cover up dissent in the ranks by claiming it destroys our unity. Unity isn't something you can force, it's either there or it isn't. I'll be damned if I sit by and allow people to claim that healthy debate doesn't help solve some of our issues.

This isn't about nitpicking. This isn't about attempting to drive a wedge between the parties once more. This is about getting to the bottom of why the perception is that our government is inactive. After all, communication is a must in ANY relationship, especially in a country in our position. Articles help communicate with the zombie two clickers who don't bother with the forums or with IRC. Ignoring players who can't use either medium doesn't necessarily help with the retention OF these players either. So let's stop with the aggressive attempts to hush our ecitizens up. Healthy discourse encourages solutions we can all agree on.
