[LO] A Final Farewell

Day 1,006, 09:44 Published in Malaysia USA by Liquid Oxygen

Ladies and gentlmen, The Jagged Edge returns to you with a rather simple story. I know I've briefly touched on my arrival in eMalaysia in other articles, but I believe a simple re-telling might do us all a world of good.

We're going to have to go way back to last winter in order to time this correctly. In real time, it doesn't seem like a lot of time, but in eRep time, it seems like ancient history.

Who I Am.
No one of political importance, but if you were in any way, shape or form involved in the military scene in regards to eMalaysia and Sol before its saddening demise, you'd know I was an almost three term SolSC, as well as a multi-term Sol representative. I also lived in ePMY for almost a year before the PTO'ers overran it and party politics and infighting allowed it. Something to take to heart, possibly.

Now, that being said, let's begin with the circumstances surrounding my eimmigration. First off, I was fairly opposed to the idea of superalliances in the form of both PEACE and EDEN, vehemently so, even. It made me somewhat of a pariah, which under the circumstances and considering my involvement with the eUS military, probably wasn't the best timing. So I wandered aimlessly around the New World until a friend of mine who was a party mate, ExoM7, mentioned he was heading back to eMalaysia.

eMalaysia's reputation was along the lines of a neutral arena where you could leave the hustle and bustle of superpower politics and superalliance shenanigans. It sounded like a perfect fit to me, so off I went. When I arrived, I was treated with genuine respect and offered many opportunities that may not have been given to me, had I chosen to stay in the eUS. A new home and a new start in a place that seemed tolerant, respectful and fairly peaceful, aside from the war games and occasional eIndonesian aggression.

These were the golden days in my opinion, before the Ghaybians began arriving and the parties began fighting each other AND the Ghaybians at the same time. We had unity back then. Sure, we also had the rivalry between the DPP and the FUP, but it's always been there.

The differences now and then seem like night and day. During campaigns there were no attack articles written. We weren't divisive and divided. We were in the good hands of people like Vikta, Nagyzee, ww88 and CDV. People with mixed party affiliations, but who worked for the good of the entire country, not just their fraction of it.

Now that the country is a shambles and you're desperately clinging to whatever you can snatch back from the Servs, was it all worth it? Were all the articles calling out the "backroom" dealing and fingerpointing at the ancient guardians of eMalaysia really needed? The people who did their work in the background did it that way without hoopla or without praise. More importantly, they kept the country safe. If they didn't have the best interests of the country in mind, don't you think they would have simply looted the country and left?

Sure, everyone wants their shot at the limelight, but in all honestly, none of you were ready, as witnessed by both Spykerman's administration and Mansour's divisive one previously.

I DO, however, salute your tenacity and wish you luck in your future endeavors, but sadly, I feel my time in eMY has passed. I won't be returning.
