Today I'm going to digress from the Presidential Campaign. I know, it's day 3 and I'm not doing it, but my good friend Soren Nelson is running for Federalist Party President. While I was the 4th person to nominate him for our primary, I was one of the people who convinced him to run because he'll be an amazing Party President. Plus his last name is pretty awesome. So here's his platform. Enjoy! And be sure to go vote for him in the Party President Primary!



My name is Soren Nelson, and I want to be the next Federalist Party President.



I’ve been an active Federalist for over 6 months, and have spent the last 4 months in senior Federalist leadership. In that time I’ve held the following positions:

● Commanding Officer of EZC
● Congress member and Whip
● Forum Moderator and IRC admin
● FBI Agent
● Mentor
● Journalist

Accomplishments and Experience

EZC - I became CO in late November, after 6 weeks of being XO. When I took command, EZC had less than 10 active members, and was losing money at a devastating rate. In the 2 months that I was CO, I raised our member count to almost 20 active members, and made EZC financially solvent. In fact, EZC is now profitable.

Congress - As a first time congressman, I feel that I represented the Feds well. I discovered that congress is not an institution for the faint of heart. I argued against raising the minimum wage, which, when implemented, threw our economy into a crisis almost overnight. I was also able to protect EZC from budget cuts.

Forums/IRC - Simply put, I know how to use them. I’ve had admin capabilities for months, and am able to manipulate the mechanics of both to maintain organization and good behavior.

Journalist - I’ve written and edited many articles for the Feds and EZC. I understand what’s appropriate to put in articles, and pride myself in using correct grammar and syntax.


Goals

The Feds have struggled in recent months. We’ve seen our membership drop, and been the target of attacks both foreign and domestic. I recognize that the Fed’s strength comes from the talent and effort of the members. Meeting the needs of our members must, must, MUST be our focus.



FOP (Fed Outreach Program)- This department propelled the Feds from a 6th party to the #2 party. In many ways, this department exemplifies Federalist ideals - communication, participation, and knowledge. I firmly believe that the FOP should be our number one priority. At one time, Federalist was synonymous with organization and great communication. I think it’s time to live up to that once more. I want to see the FOP become our most active department. FOP generates activity, and activity makes a healthy, fun party. When we have more people joining the Feds, and more people staying with the Feds, then other departments will grow as a result.



EZC (Easy Company) - Granted, I’m a little biased towards EZC. At the same time though, having been CO has given me insight into the expansive potential that resides in our militia. As PP, I will see to it that EZC is given the recognition and support it needs. It’s our best retention tool, and that shouldn’t be ignored. Historically, there’s been a gap between EZC and Fed leadership. In many ways, EZC’s autonomy is a strength. I have no intention of infringing upon EZC policy or day-to-day operations. I would like to see greater communication between the two. Easy Company and the Feds have a symbiotic relationship - we both benefit from the other. But only when we know what the other needs.



Congress - People have accused us of being “all about congress.” I laugh at them. We run candidates who know their stuff, and will make a positive impact if elected. I have no intention of changing that. I do, however, intend on starting a discussion with the top 5 regarding congressional elections, and ways we can improve inter-party communication and fairness.



Forums - Our forums are not aesthetically pleasing. I intend to assign a group to overhaul our forum’s appearance. I would also like to see a significant number of topics sent to the forum archives, as there are a lot of dead topics still hanging around. Our forums need to be a place that “wows” new players. I want it to be shiny and interactive. I want every piece of information about the Feds to be easily accessible to anyone who wants to know.



VPP (Vice Party President) - My good friend MitchRapp has graciously agreed to be my VPP. Mitch was Angelini’s VPP, and has proved himself a capable Fed many times. I have a great deal of respect for MitchRapp; not only for his knowledge and loyalty, but also for his honesty. He never hesitates to offer a fresh perspective, and has often counseled me. He is, without a doubt, the best possible choice for my Vice President.

I am ready for this. I have the experience, the connections, and the drive to be the next Federalist Part President. I know what needs to be done to get the party back where it belongs. Feds, I am ready.
