I feel lowdown and blue
I didn't have what I wanted
That's when I saw the sign
Outside the place that promised salvation
Julian Mizu has had a little over 36 hours in office, so he's probably just settling getting new carpet put in the Lincoln Bedroom, and making sure the Cabinet has everything ready to go. But today's Monday so it's time to go back to work. Hopefully he releases an article to let us know his finalized cabinet and some of the things he hopes to get going. Now if I were him, that article would have been out immediately after the election (should have had it prepped ahead of time), and a White House Press Release would be out. He has posted it in the forums, but let's hope he doesn't keep up this in-game broadcast silence.
As for the cabinet, it looks like a pretty strong group. Speedcat and Inwegen are great in the Chief of Staff and Deputy roles. Lt. Scheisskopf is a good military mind to have in the Defense Department, Alexander Hamilton has been working on PANAM since his presidency so he's a pretty obvious choice for Foreign Affairs. An interesting choice of Cerb at Secretary of State, but he's done a lot of good work in the past. And having 4 former presidents and Ligtreb as your advisers lets you know that at least some smart people will be helping out.
As for goals, I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of stance this administration takes on the Spain/BroZil conundrum. Having good relations with longtime ally and former BFF Spain would be nice, and you know the JCS would like this, but in building a new alliance we've become fast friends with Spain's long time rival, Brazil (also know as BroZil, since they've been a real Bro). Is there anyway to resolve their quarrel, and if not we will soon have to pick sides. It looks like we've
seemingly picked sides by keeping an MPP with Brazil and dropping the MPP with Spain. Will the president remain a wishywashy position the last administration had or will they take a firm stance?
We are also missing a Rubber and Deer region. First off I have to say to the Admin, no deer in Indiana? There's about 5 or 6 dead ones on the closest highway to me. They are ALL over my backyard. And I'm in a populated area. If you go to the rural areas of Indiana you'll find thousands. Last year over 132,000 deer were harvested (aka, hunted and killed) in the State of Indiana, which was a record. They are so numerous that they are bothersome. Anyway, we have no real way to go after a deer region unless we let our Japanese MPP expire and rent Chubu again. The other Deer regions are either through allies, or very difficult to get to without an all out military campaign. As for rubber, it's sitting there in our backyard, Southwest of Mexico. Let's declare them as our Natural Enemy, attack their Tire Factory in the Southwest, and make some more illegal immigrants. Not only will this get us a rubber region, but I'll be able to complete the Natural Enemy quest. Win-Win.
Law and Order
This is where I'm going to take a look at the laws that were proposed by the President.
As of posting Mizu has only proposed one bill, an MPP with Greece. This is excellent to see that Greece will be remaining an ally for another month. Strong, filled with dedicated fighters, and a country we helped free nearly 2 years ago from Turkey. We've helped them out quite a bit and in turn they have helped us, by housing our military during the invasion in the Summer '09.
Grading Period
Every Monday I'll give Mizu a grade for how he's done so far.
Grade as of 2/7/11: I for Incomplete
While I'm a little perturbed that he hasn't announced his cabinet in his paper or the WHPR, he's only had 36 hours in the office. Can't actually grade 36 hours and expect it to match up for a full week.

Lol, you have lost it Kyle.
seriously, you're giving the sitting President a grade?
Who are you?
voted. It was a good read.
meh
I'll vote it.
I'm waiting to see how this goes for the remainder of this term. Interesting idea.
Henry Arundel: 'seriously, you're giving the sitting President a grade?
Who are you?'
The voting public, just who are you? I like this idea. It has been long time since a good daily review of the current Administration has been published.
I like this idea. There has been a lack of anyone critiquing the CP for a long time.
Unfortunately, giving the President a grade ultimately accomplishes nothing. You're just trolling him in the media. If you trusted him, you wouldn't give him a grade. Furthermore, you wouldn't even consider critiquing him on down the road until he ACTUALLY made a mistake.
No one is perfect. Whether or not he makes a mistake so you can slap his hand surely won't make friends.

non-stop POTUS campaigning
this will end well
>You're just trolling him in the media. If you trusted him, you wouldn't give him a grade.
Lol, what. Learn what trolling is. Also, that's like saying I trust the Govt IRL, and won't pay any attention to what they do. They'll always do the right thing.
think I'll develop a new personal policy.
when reading articles I'll just stop when I get to a lame mis-spell or mixing of homonyms.
so in this case I got as far as roll where role should have been.
Thanks Custer, I'm bad at spelling, and my spell/grammar checkers are now fired.
Lol, you have lost it Kyle. Uh, oh yes. Joe said that already.

Where is the ignore button in the media when you need it?

>Lol, what. Learn what trolling is.
Hah. Good one. I was talking in a figurative sense.
>Also, that's like saying I trust the Govt IRL, and won't pay any attention to what they do. They'll always do the right thing.
Nope, that's like saying you wouldn't give the President a grade IRL because you trust him. The media is WAY harder on the President IRL. They don't give him a grade. Why do you think you can?
And I didn't say turn your head the other way and ignore anything he says or does. I said that essentially, giving your President a grade doesn't show him any respect, which can cause a lot of problems relationally between citizens. Ultimately, none of us can tell whether his decisions will benefit us or hinder us, until we're on down the road. So don't act like you know exactly what will happen, because by critiquing him and grading him, that is what you're saying to him.
unknown provides some good thought for you here Kyle. Chew on it. You've waited a good while for your turn. This tactic/style is harmful to your own goal. It is a message that creates separation, not unity of purpose for the eUS team.
No deer in Pennsylvania?
