Ο Φοίνικας είναι ἕνα πανίσχυρο σύμβολο πού ἀφομοιώνει τή δύναμη τοῦ ἀνθρώπου νά ἀναγεννιέται ἀπό τίς δυσκολίες του καί νά γίνεται ἀκόμα πιό δυνατός.

Ἡ ἀρχαιότερη καταγεγραμμένη ἀναφορά τοῦ Φοίνικα μᾶς παραδίδεται ἀπό τον Ησίοδος (8ος αἰώνας π.Χ.). Ὀνομάστηκε ‘Φοίνικας’ ἀπό τήν λέξη ‘φοινός’, δηλαδή ‘πορφυρός’ καί ὁ μύθος ἀναφέρει ὅτι πρόκειται γιά ἕνα πανέμορφο πουλί πού μοιάζει μέ ἀετό καί παγώνι. Κατοικοῦσε στήν Φοινίκη, δίπλα σέ μία πηγή στήν ὁποία πλένονταν κάθε μέρα μέ τήν αὐγή, τραγουδώντας τόσο ὄμορφα, πού ὁ Ἥλιος σταματοῦσε τό ἅρμα του γιά νά ἀπολαύσει τό τραγούδι του. Ἔτσι, ὁ Φοίνικας συνδέθηκε μέ τόν Ἥλιο καί κατ’ ἐπέκταση μέ τόν ἡλιακό Θεό Ἀπόλλωνα.

Ὁ Ἕλληνας ἱστορικός Ηροδοτος, λέει: «Δέν ἔχω δεῖ ποτέ αὐτό τό πουλί παρά μόνο σέ εἰκόνες. Μέρη τοῦ φτερώματός του ἔχουν τό χρυσό χρῶμα καί ἄλλα βαθυκόκκινο καί μοιάζει στό περίγραμμα καί τίς διαστάσεις μέ ἀετό. Τό πουλί αὐτό μοιάζει μέ μεγάλο ἀετό ἤ μέ ἐρωδιό μέ χρυσό καί κόκκινο φτέρωμα ἄν καί ὁ κινέζικος ἔχει πέντε χρώματα. Τοῦ δίνουν πολλές ἡλικίες, 500 , 540 , 1000 , 1461 , 12.994 χρόνια. Αὐτός εἶναι ὁ Φοίνικας πού γνωρίζουμε, τό πουλί πού ἀναγεννᾶτε μέσα ἀπό τίς στάχτες του».

Πρόκειται γιά ἕνα ἔξυπνο, σοφό, εὐαίσθητο καί πανέμορφο πλάσμα, πού δέν τρέφεται ἀπό πτώματα οὔτε πετᾶ ἐδῶ καί κεῖ χωρίς λόγο. Κανείς δέν τό ἔχει δεῖ ποτέ νά τρώει καί μένει πάντα σέ ἕνα σημεῖο μέχρι νά πεθάνει. Ἀναφέρεται ἐπίσης ὅτι τά δάκρυά του εἶναι λιβάνι καί τό αἷμα τοῦ βάλσαμο. Οἱ πληγές τοῦ ἐπουλώνονται ἀμέσως, ἐάν τύχει νά τοῦ ἐπιτεθοῦν ἐχθροί, καί τό δάκρυ τοῦ μπορεῖ νά γιατρέψει ἕναν ἄνθρωπο ἀλλά καί νά προστατέψει ἀπό τόν θάνατο προσωρινά.

Ὁ Ἱερός Φοῖνιξ δέ πρέπει νά μπερδεύεται μέ ἕνα δαίμονα μέ παρόμοιο ὄνομα πού βρίσκεται στό κλειδί τοῦ Σολομώντα. Αὐτός ἀντιστοιχεῖ στή Σελήνη, ἐνῶ ὁ Ἱερός Φοῖνιξ εἶναι ἀναμφισβήτητα ἕνα πλάσμα τῆς Φωτιᾶς καί τοῦ Ἥλιου.

The Phoenix is a almighty symbol that absorbs the force of person rebirth by his difficulties and to become still more strong.

The ancienter report of Phoenix is delivered to us by the Greek historian Isiodos (8th century BC). It named “Phoenix” from ancient greek word “foinos” that means crimson (dark red) and the fable report that it is a unigue bird that resembles with eagle and peacock. It lived in Foiniki, next to a source in which it was washed each day with the dawn, singing so beautifully, that the Sun stopped his chariot in order to enjoy its song. Thus, the Phoenix was connected with the Sun and at extension with the solar God Apollo.

The Greek historian Irodotos, says: “I have never seen this bird except in pictures. Some parts of its plumage have the golden colour and other dark red and resemble in the outline and dimensions with eagle. This bird resembles with big eagle or with heron with golden and red plumage even if Chinese! has five colours. They give it a lot of ages, 500, 540, 1000, 1461, 12.994 . Iit is the Phoenix that we know, the bird that reborn through the ashes”.

It is an intelligent, wise, sensitive and beautiful creature, that is not nourished by corpses neither reason. No one has ever saw it eating and it remains always in a point until it dies. It is reported also that its teardrops are incense and its blood balm. Its wounds are healed immediately if it happens to attacked by its enemies, and the teardrop can cure a person but also protect from the death provisionally.

Holy Phoenix should not perplex with demon with similar name that is found in the key of Solomon. This corresponds in the Moon, while Holy Phoenix is undeniably a creature of Fire and Sun.
