Now Flying with the USAirborne!

Dateline: June 13, 2011 (Day 1,301)
Location: Fort Campbell, Kentucky
Reporter: Private George Armstrong "Old Man" Custer

WTF??
Yes, I've resigned from the USArmy and have joined the USAirborne!
The USArmy had been my home for most of my e-life, having first joined in May 2009 only a month after starting to play eRepublik. USArmy personnel can find my Resignation message here.
I'm an old man with a bucket list to tend to, and serving in the USAirborne was tops on it.

With the demise of all Org-owned newspapers, everyone's scrambling to get their Official News published in a paper they can expect to remain stable.
Most USMilitary branches' writers publish in their own papers anyways, and this will be no different. "Custer's Stand" is now renamed "Death From Above," proudly serving the USAirborne.*
Bookmark it, sub the paper. You know the kind of work I do, and this is where you'll find it.

Announcement:
Look for the third installment of USMilitary Challenge Coin presentations late this week, in this newspaper. I intend to work with writers representing other branches of the USMilitary, to move the presentation around to more fully honor members of every USMilitary branch.

All Donations to the USMilitary Challenge Coin program continue to be in my care. If you wish to donate funds or goods to the program, send them to me, personally, and you'll be recognized for your contribution.
Right now I have $500 USD (from Teddy Roosevelt) and 100 Q5 tanks (from Elizabeth "Libby" Clift Bacon), enough to get through another round. Challenge Coins will continue to be awarded, but it's sure a lot more fun with tanks.

Late Edit, 1000 hours: On Tuesday, Day 1302, this newspaper will present a special edition to honor the memory of the Liberty Belle, an historic B-17 Flying Fortress which crashed in rural Illinois early this morning.
Tune in tomorrow, friends, for another of my "too much RL" Educational pieces.

If you want to join the any branch of the USMilitary, the Training Corps is the place to start.

Here's the USAirborne application. Minimum Strength 1800, Hit Barehanded 400
