[IL] A New Year, A New Article

Day 1,530, 11:15 Published in Canada Canada by Macubex8

It's been a while since I last wrote an article, hasn't it? Well no matter, today's topic is the IL. More or less this is a little status update of the IL, you know what's been going on, what we've been up to, all that good stuff. The one thing about the IL is a lot of decisions are made and done depending on the mood. I'm feeling casual, hence this article will be casual and hopefully not to long.

Let's start off with the bread and butter of an MU, supplies. Nosyt has hopped over the fence to our brothers in the south to capitalize on those lovely 10/10 resource bonuses. Allowing us to bring supply up from 11 Q5/Q6 Weapons and 60 Q5 food to 13 Q5/Q6 Weapons and 65 Q5 food for Standard supply. As for the one's taking weapon's only they get a modest boost from 13 Q5/Q6 weapons to 15 Q5/Q6 weapons.
While our weekly bonus supply saw an increase from 2 Q6 weapons per 25 kills to 3 Q6 weapons per 25 kills. All members are required to work in a slave pit to receive supplies. Which brings us into our next two topics.

1. Worker rotation
As a reward to our active members, people who log in multiple times a day can capitalize on our worker rotation activities. Nosyt owns 1 Q6 weapon's company and as such allows members to do a hire/fire working concept to produce Q6 weapons. In exchange what would normally be Q5 weapons for supply are now Q6 weapons. As of writing 18/20 spots are taken

2. Bonus Supply
The IL's incentive to fight those extra fights lies in our bonus supply. Each Sunday I send out Q6 tanks to each player based on the amount of kills they made that week. The time at which these supplies are received varies depending on my mood. Each 25 kills warrants a reward 3 Q6 weapons. So on top of your reward for completing the daily order, you also get some tanks. Lovely system isn't it? Unless of course your the one who has to record the kills each day. Hurray for dual monitors.

Now that we've finished with supply let's talk finances. After all those supplies cost something don't they?... Well not really. The IL operating costs vary slightly from day to day depending on if we receive new members. Ideally we like to keep monthly operational costs under the $50k mark. How do we keep costs so low? By being innovative of course, SAWC proposed the idea (after we had put it into practice) of MU's working RM companies to produce needed RM. That's what we've done and it's allowed us to supply more and still have money for a rainy day.
What do we do with the leftover money? We use it to build more WRM companies when needed but if we have some money leftover we give it away. We play a little number guessing lottery in the MU feed and the winner gets the cash for 5 Q4 RM companies and the land to go with it, This is to help people reach food self-sufficiency. Oh and I feel as if I should step on some toes here, this all done by not claiming funding for more then we supply 😉

To some more recent news. Nosyt has stepped down as commander. I've got the time to be handling the in-game nitpicks, such as updating the MU description, directing PM's from new members and not being able to post normally 😛 Other then that nothing changes, oh wait I also get the MU IRC channel, #iLegion.

With his stepping down, I've uploaded a new avatar to replace that... lace we've had for the past month or so. Quick! 10 Q5 tanks to the first one to correctly tell me where the logo is from, but alas this is not our ideal avatar and so the offer still stands if anyone can make us an avatar and we decide to use it I'll give you 50 Q5 weapons, I think that sounds fair.

New IL Logo, but from where?

As membership increases, 65 members I think it is now. Supply runs, recording kills, managing the spreadsheet have become daunting and lengthy tasks for 1 man, so Sir Arthur William Currie has become the IL's 2nd official supply officer. He will distribute Standard Supplies on the IL's behalf. Quick! Anyone who can correctly identify the first IL supply officer gets 250 Q2 food.

So let's wind things down as this article passes 1 page (before pictures). With the bump in the roads for COI and our membership increase we have secured our place in the top 5 for the past couple of weeks. As a celebration of sorts I may or may not release an article detailing a contest in what may or may not be the foreseeable future.

Until I get the will to write again,
