[I&W] The Checklist; End of term
MaartenW
As most of you will recall I&W made a checklist with the goals stated in Kordak’s presidential campaign, it is now the end of the term so it is time to review this list!
All short notice goals were met!
Short notice;
[ x ] 5 gold presidential medal to the state
[ x ] Changing the king to the president
None of the weekly goals was met, not even close.
Weekly;
[ / ] Weekly Finance report
We don’t think the MoF ever agreed on writing a weekly finance update as he works on the finance sheet every few days.
[ ] Ally of the Week
We have seen one ‘ally of the week’ at the start of the term but it seems like it ended there.
[ ] Weekly goals for ministries
This is of course an inside matter but we didn’t find any confirmation that this actually happened the whole term as goals should have results, which we have only seen in a few ministries.
[ ] Weekly fun articles and contests
Nothing
[ ] (Combined strikes with allies)
Nada
[ ] (IRC fun meetings)
The MoHA has created something fun but this was put on the forum, not on the IRC and the first round hasn’t started yet :/
Two of the goals for the end of the term were met.
End of term;
[ ] Stayed in touch with the people and our congress
There was a lot of communication through articles in the start of the term however after 1-2 hardly anything was shared with the public and the congress especially on FA subjects, the things that were published ingame or on the forum had a high ‘propaganda’ level.
[ ] Report on the possibilities of new colonies
“The moon seems a good possibility, I heard Poland can’t go into space!”
[ ] Published war emergency plans
Nowhere to be found
[ ] Improved contact with allies
We have sent a message to all MoFA's from the countries on the ally list, asking them to give a grade from 1 to 5 on a few subjects, we got a wide range of responses from 12 countries, 1 is very poor, 5 is excellent.
The average grade the countries gave to the relation with the Netherlands before the term was a 2.8, the average grade they gave for the relation now was 2.5. The grade given for the amount/quality of the communication with the Netherlands was a 1.9 which was the same grade given to our MoFA. This numbers show that the contact with allies decreased so the goal hasn't been reached.
Our president and MoFA also stated that taking a region from Belgium would make us look like a stronger ally, apparently our allies didn't agree as they rated this ideology with a 1.6.
One country consisting out of an island near Turkey also stated; Neukenindekeuken.
[ ] Improved contact with ePoland
“The government improved the contact with Poland so much that there is no need for messages anymore, they use telepathy instead!”
[ ] A guide for understanding how our finance system works
“sqrt(-1)”
[ x ] MoH been created
The Ministry of Health led by Xibbard is a really nice concept which should be a ‘must have’ for every government!
[ ] (Multiple) coaching articles updated
“... in other news, Fred Rutten is the new coach of Feyenoord...”
[ ] Report on new ways of recruitment
“Hurry, come back to eRepublik, ze Germans are coming!”
[ / ] People being 'good informed'
Since we weren’t able to measure this properly we will leave it in the middle.
[ x ] (Multiple) articles about the past of the eNetherlands and its culture.
Two nice articles were published about the history of the eNetherlands, quite informative!
Conclusion:
The start of the term was really good, it is a real pity this didn’t continue and all the focus went to bitchfighting Belgium, we surely think Kordak has potential but he didn’t show it this month.
If you think something in this review is incorrect please mention it in the comments!

Good article, I think most of the goals weren't reached because of the problems with Belgium, and the so called "mercenary scandal". Also I think for some goals it needs more time to reach it.
well the problems with Belgium started with our own gov so...

laat maar
voted. and a little disappointed that so few goals were met by the gov.
I love the commentary haha.
On the MoHA Dept: i put out one part of my SCI Reform, i couldn;t find a way to run an IRC Meeting, and the First Werewolves round has not started yet due to people not showing interest and joining it.
Yes the SCI reform is nice but it wasn't a goal that is why it wasn't stated in the article 😛
I understand it. I also must confess that the disinterest in werewolves somehow demotivated me in orginizing an irc contest or meeting. Not only did i pumped energy in werewolves i pumped my confidence in it from oh, people might like it. Not only was i thinking on what to do with irc and how to do it, i was thinking if peoole were interested in it, and that collided into negativity and me giving up on it. 🙁
the idea for werewolves was good. but like i said i can't see it work on a forum, it's a game that needs to be played irl.
On one of the other forums we play ww on a regular basis with a permanent player list. It is very successful.
Hmmm, a bit of a sad score...
Well, without bragging, the MoF dept seems the only dept that actually did reach their goals as we already have a weekly report since 18 months or so. The finance sheet is updated every week with the new expected income and spendings available to see for every citizen. So, although a few people keep trying to convince the public it aint transparent, MoF is the only dept that's fully transparent on the monthly progression of any given gov since juli '12 ;- )
a sheet isn't a report 😉
It sure is, and even a lot smarter then your idea, as only eDutch are able to read that sheet on our own forum. 😉
*Kordak's idea
I don't recall Kordak stating there should be a report via an in-game article MaartenW. Only that there had to be a weekly report as we already discussed via PM weeks ago.
For my clarification; What would qualify as report IYO odan?
An in game article stating the budget and where it will be spend on to start with followed a week later by an article that states the budget (be it changed or not) the plans on spending (be it changed or not) and the spend to that date? Repeated weekly?
at the start of the term a report that states what the gov might be thinking of spending would be a nice start. at the end of the term how it went. and the 2 weeks inbetween perhaps small updates on the financial state of projects/the market/etc.
not saying they have to be 1000 word reports. just a simple easy to read report for our citizens is nice enough. not saying the actual numbers have to be used, direction to the forum for protection of our finances (if needed) may be used.
Well in that case I'd say all you need to do is look at the finance sheet as that's exactly what is stated in it and done for months. With the actual numbers in it as well.
In the finance section of our forum there is even a guide on how to read it. Posting an in game article with exactly the same info feels rather pointless, or at least as a waste of my time.
Or perhaps I could post a screen shot of a part of the sheet as in game article. Only a part as that will suffice. The sheet itself contains more info. Let alone the other tabs available. But that also feels as a waste of time as every citizen can look at the sheet every time they please so why should they be restricted to a weekly report?
Sorry but I really see no point in posting an article when all info is right in front of the people already. The only, neutral, reason I can come up with is something from the past perhaps. As before I became MoF budget was set once and never changed. Perhaps back then there was the need although I guess back than realisation was also posted regularly so also visible to all.
Well as I see it there hasn't been a (new) weekly entity that could be called a report, "Weekly Finance report" sounds a whole lot different than "Keeping the finance sheet up to date"
but since this is a matter of interpretation I will update it to a /
The thing is; When i started as MoF there was a sheet that at the start of a term was filled with some fixed numbers. Spendings were also recorded but that was it. Furthermore my "mentor" MoF when I started as ss made it very clear it was an easy job as all you had to do was more or less keep track of the daily change in treasure.
When I became MoF a term later i changed that rather drastic and also introduced a reanalysis of the budget (and spendings) set and 'reported' that in the newly developed gov budget tab. Ever since there is, in my interpretation, a weekly report on our finances.
The only downside is that it still ain't formalised as congress back then didn't see the need on stricter budgeting and did find this weekly analyses/reporting to difficult and unnecessary. I on the other hand find it quite easy and am glad more and more people, also the ones opposed back then, seem to tend towards the need of a weekly analyses/report nowadays.
Oh by the way; This weekly analyses and reporting is something completely different as keeping the sheet up to date. The latter is keeping track of progress as recorded in the other tabs of the sheet ; -)
yes, we can say Tonie did a great job. Alas that's all we can say really. 🙂
Well I think several others also did a pretty great job, this is simply a review of the goals, not of general performance.
the reason why we shouldnt pick kordak for new gov
Weekly;
[x ] Weekly Finance report
Instead we got a great report from weekstrom giving a overview of the entire month.
[x ] Ally of the Week
We have had one ally of the week, after that we fought in our own wars. We were for example under attack by Germany?
[x ] Weekly goals for ministries
This was done
[x] Weekly fun articles and contests
Ehm we had history articles and contests on the forum??
[ x] (Combined strikes with allies)
We coordinated attacks together with our allies in ASGARD??
[ ] (IRC fun meetings)
We had a fun meeting on forum instead, so yeah no IRC fun meetings
don't forget the good foundation we layed, for future talks with Poland. These plans aree still very much possible. 😉
