[I&W] Program January; Participation is Power

This is our updated party program, it looks much like the previous one but our thoughts on the specific subjects are updated. Here is some music to go with it.

Where other parties focus on the ‘ordinary’ man, creating equality or building on the ultimate demographic process Iron and Wine focusses on an active community.

In the Netherlands there are three kinds of citizens;
Community players who read/comment on articles and are frequently on the forum or IRC.
Active players who only read articles and sometimes comment on them.
Two-clickers who only work, train, fight and vote.

There are roughly 35 community players in our country and also about 65 active players, this is only 20% of the total amount of inhabitants of the Netherlands. Since you are reading this you are part of this ‘elite’ 20%. These people characterise and shape the Netherlands, they are our friends and debate partners. It has been said before and I will say it again, people don’t stick around for the (crappy) game but they stick around for the community.

Iron and Wine works with and for this group of Community players and Active players, a group which we call Elite players. Obviously our political views are made with the intention to gain more Elite players and aid them. Is this unfair? It is maybe not perfectly equal but it is perfectly fair, everybody has eyes and a voice all you have to do to be elite is use them.


Foreign policy;
Iron and Wine is realistic, we think an alliance with Poland would be the best way to preserve our country and community. As some might conclude this indeed means giving up 2 of our regions for the duration of this alliance, this might sound bitter but it actually isn’t that bad. Our community has been shrinking to a level where we could hardly support congress elections with 3 regions, last election we almost got PTOed when a group of 5 persons nobody ever heard about would have gotten congress seats if it wasn’t for a handful of votes being removed because of cheating. Besides the greater PTO risk the economic profits of having 2 extra bonuses is also insignificant.

An alliance could give us purpose and fun in the game, a downside is that as the small country we are we can’t be too cocky.

We think this option is better than the other options which are remaining neutral which would mean we remain in the current (boring) situation or joining an alliance that opposes Poland. This last option would of course give the best feeling because we can daily fight for our country, it will come at a high price however, we can make a significance as a country but we will have to sacrifice our community for that; if we join an alliance against Poland we should NE poland every time one of our regions gets freed causing our determination to rise in all our regions so Poland can’t perform its determination cooldown swap. This will make us a really good drain of Polish damage, more than our soldiers could ever do, but we will only have only 20% of our total tax income and no congresses.

Whatever we do we should make our presence clear to other countries. Our allies will remember our help much better if they see us changing the wall with a few % in one mini battle than us doing an insignificant amount of ‘random’ damage over the whole campaign. Having frequent joined strikes will also help us bond with the people of a country making our diplomatic relations more friendly and stable.


Military policy;
We think the Dutch military should be an unified entity focused on the state military units. Within the military there shouldn’t be any party politics, where we are all brothers in arms fighting for our country. Iron and Wine thinks the people in the army should have an ‘uniform’ to make us as Dutch clearly recognizable on the battlefield. The military should have a deployable elite unit of active people who are able/willing to participate in joined strikes.


Financial Policy;
The MoF should create a conservative estimation of the tax income over the upcoming month to frame an according budget, while all surplus tax income and the possible remainder of the budget will be invested in the Emergency Fund.

With the budget the government should acquire one MPP with frequent wars so it is for our newbies not unnecessarily complicated to get through their first days, the government can ask the citizens to crowdfund any other specific MPP’s. The remaining part should be used for replenishing the emergency fund. government programs and supplies for our army rather than supplying foreigners.


Home Affairs Policy;
We think monitoring PTO risks is one of the most important MoHA jobs, in our opinion only individuals should be accepted into the country, when it looks like the individuals start forming a group the border should be closed to them.

eRepublik has its own wiki for sharing and archiving information, unfortunately many of it’s pages in Dutch and pages regarding the Netherlands are outdated, we think it should be a task of the Ministry of Home Affairs to make sure they are getting updated.


Congress Policy;
There has been talks lately of parties not being open to inexperienced people running for congress, Iron and Wine is open to any of these people that are willing to run for congress but we have one condition however; the person must be active. We want all our congress members to be active on at least the forum and preferably also on the IRC because in politics communication is key. To quote Garmrs forum signature; “You are not entitled to your opinion. You are entitled to your informed opinion. No one is entitled to be ignorant.”




We would like to remind you that YOU are elite and that like the title says; participating is power. In this small country it is not that hard to let your voice be heard if only you would participate in the community.
