Friends, I am here with news of GREAT SUCCESS. I am here to announce my candidacy in the senatorial race in Texas for the election in 5 days time. I am a current White House Staffer in the Scrabman Administration as well as the Director of Communications for the United States Worker's Party, where I am also an Executive Board member. I am a proud and hard working American Businessman. Above all else, I'm your guy!

Platform:

Taxes: I'm an ardent supporter of the PANEC tax system and would like to see it in place for the long term, with a possible change only in import taxes as supply and demand fluctuates. I am a big believer in strong government programs, hence large funding for the National Guard, Army, and Marines. Without higher taxes, opportunities such as war games would go by the wayside. Without proper taxation, the government cannot afford its citizens the means to increase their strength and rank like we currently have.

ATLANTIS: I support secession from ATLANTIS on peaceful terms. I believe that the game is not fun in the current two-alliance system and support the formation of a third alliance for an added layer of diplomacy and fun for all. In the current system, every war is ATLANTIS versus PEACE. No back room deals are made, no allies are needed, and all each side does is fall back on their allies. It causes an endless back and forth. The USA is strong enough to stand on it's own with help from allies (Such as Sweden, a great friend who have always supported us. See also: 1500 gold interest-free loan when we needed it most).

War: I support conquest wars when they provide something of value to the nation. Wars for the "lulz" do not add any value to the nation and can only backfire, a la Portugal, France and Mexico. If the country needs (and we do need them, for the record) wars to train strength and have fun, I suggest continuing war games as we currently have and not a true aggressive war. I'd only support conquest wars if it meant capturing and keeping either a high iron or high diamonds region.

I'm confused. You support a third alliance because "the game is not fun in the current two-alliance system", but don't support war for the "the lulz". While I agree with your stance on war (that it shouldn't just be for fun), creating a third alliance for the sake of fun seems a bit hypocritical. Perhaps I'm not quite understanding something here though?

I don't support war just for fun. I do support making the game more fun, but I don't wish for that fun to be via senseless wars.

It does. I just wanted to understand your platform a little better and while I agree that games should be fun, I'd be more in support of a third alliance if it were based on more than just fun. In any case, I wish you luck in your campaign.

Well, fun is just one of the many positives.

It would break up the two alliance blocs and allow for newer countries to join one of the alliances to get protection. It'd allow for more wide-spread war games for military training. Things like that.
