[Grand Strategy Plan]Red Dawn: Are we living it?
WaspMk4
Anyone ever seen the movie Red Dawn? Well, guess what? We're living it now. And it's even worse, there are no "free states" left.
Now, more than ever before, we need coordination and cooperation between the parties and MUs. We need clear and concise orders that follow a definite strategy.
President Proteus is a good man, one that I think is capable of leading us in a time like this. But he needs support. No ONE man can ever do it alone.
So, I'm calling out to the Congressmen, to the Party Presidents, to the MU leaders. GET together, formulate a strategy, and stick to it. No more of this wishy-washy "attack here, no there, wait.. over there." It's that kind of indecision and total strategic garbage pile that got us into this mess in the first place.
After a careful study of the situation, and the geographic terrain, I have formulated a grand strategy plan. I expect, should the leadership decide to work together to retake eUS, that a similar plan will be implemented.
Currently there is a resistance war in progress in Texas. Texas, being a big state, is probably a good starting point for retaking land. Once Texas is captured, and the enemy's initial counter-attack has been defeated, then we can think about broadening our horizons. Oklahoma, I think, should be the next target, as it shares borders with 5 states, not including Texas. After Oklahoma is secure, New Mexico will help to firm up our western border, as well as keeping a tight, compact group of states. Then, pushing east, we should take Louisiana and Arkansas. Now, with 5 states controlled, we should push north, taking Kansas, Colorado and Missouri, in that order. Pushing again through Wyoming and Montana will not only split the Hungarian occupation into 2 parts, but also provide a good launching pad for a push to the east, through Nebraska, S. Dakota and N. Dakota. Iowa and Minnesota will leave us in control of the entire mid-west. Our Western border will only be composed of 4 states, so it should be more easily defended as we continue pushing east. Wisconsin and Illinois are logical targets at this point, as they help keep a nice tight border. Michigan will continue keeping a tight border. Then we go down south, to Mississippi, through Alabama, into Tennessee, up past Kentucky, ending in Indiana, still keeping a tight border. Ohio is the next logical target, before heading back south to make a clean sweep all the way up the coast into Maine. Once the Eastern sea coast is secure, it's a simple matter to drive through Idaho, Utah and Arizona, past Nevada and ending in a final sweep south on the Western coast.
At this point in time, we should consider Alaska and Hawaii to be lost, as they are the hardest to defend, and will merely draw much-needed troops from the main-land.

Welcome to eRepublik and to the eUSA. I hope you will remain for a long time and help us build the team.
Your plan is interesting. The short version is "first you win here, then win there, then win there, then win there, and there and there". Our present difficulty is the "win" part. 🙂.
Reminds me of Andersonn's response when asked why he wasn't winning against Morphy: "unfortunately Mr. Morphy gets to play".
Your basic instinct is correct however. Tactics in eRepublic are pretty rudimentary: organize and focus massive damage to win.
If we want to win more first we have to cut off their supply bonuses. So we should be hitting where they only have one state to connect all their land. This will severe their weapons and food production. We then focus on keeping those states free. The longer we can keep those states free, the longer our allies and oppressed Nations may help us out. With the oppressed Nations gaining Morale they will begin fighting harder, which in turn will help us finally start freeing up the eUSA, but as olivermellors pointed out, the hard part is the "win" part. TWO have way higher populations then us, therefore making them more powerful.
Win part is the issue... we should try helping our allies before moving on because lets face it they have a way bigger army so more allies the better. I know not much of a strategy but still.
