[Gov] The Last 24 Hours in office and Plans for after Office

Day 897, 00:23 Published in Singapore USA by Relorian

Greetings eSingapore and global readers,

This will more than likely be my last [Gov] tagged article unless at some point in the future I wish to run for president again or be made Minister of Communication/Information.

These past 30 days have been eventful and yet non-eventful at the same time. I know that doesnt make sense to everyone so I will explain.

The Eventful:

Minister of Immigration had to be replaced for various good reasons

Sol Wargames MPP Renewal (I've still yet to be told how much we Owe for the games despite asking twice)

Our IRC room reaching new depths of lunacy then being corrected with the return of Teh You Jing and some strong moderation(I'm glad hes back to full time eCitizen status)

Military Quartermaster Org's set up to ensure a steady way to supply Guns/Tickets to troops.

Military Tickets company acquired to provide tickets to the military

Homeguard Changes continued (Started as my term as MoD prior to presidency, continued under presidency)

Torchwood/Homeguard deployments to eSA and eChina to help our friends and and alliance members.

Re-Written the Presidential Document so that its more easily readable and contains deions of the Org's and their purposes and who has access. (The old one was quite a jumble and was confusing at times)

The Un-Eventful:

Congress activity continues to be semi low

SGD has remained for the most part stable

eSingapore was not invaded or PTO'd

Summary and Personal Opinion:

When I first assumed the office of the President I wished for an uneventful month. After a few bits of drama, its been pretty smooth sailing. We've gained a lot of new citizens (though some look like Multi's yet again) and it would be my wish to keep them in this lovely eNation. eSingapore is in a good posistion. We're not in a "Superalliance", We're still in Sol and helping our alliance mates as best we can.

The Military has had some changes to the Homeguard which should in the future allow us to get more people to enlist and it should help retain current members. Three Orgs were created to ensure weapons and tickets are ALWAYS available to the service members of this nation who are eligible to receive them.

Personally, going into this I thought it was going to be harder in some way and easier in others.
When I came in on day 1, I didnt know how much drama would be caused by a few people (Who we know but shall not name) or how many people and even nations would try and ask for money (Or in some cases threaten in attempts to get money). I had a basic idea of what the president is and could do and found that in all reality, eRep congressmen have more power than the president for most important things.

Now on day 30, I know that I've done a pretty good job. Sure there are some trolls out there who wont agree but all things considered the general feedback has been Good. I know that the office of the president is a good thing but I also understand why most presidents only run for 1 term then let someone else have it (and get re-elected later). Its a stressful job, it adds hours to your normal eRep activities (which for me upped it from about 3 hours a day to 5 hours a day).

I plan to leave a "Presidential Letter" on the forums in the Country Administration sections in hopes of starting a new tradition where the outgoing president tells the incoming president whats needed and leaves them with a few lines of advice.

Now on to my personal plans.

After the next president takes office, I plan to move to the eUSA for a while. In order to go through military training there, I am going to be required to obtain eUS Citizenship (Something I never thought I would have to do). It will be the first time in many many months that I havent been in eSingapore. I will go through the eUS TC and see what I can learn from it and what I can potentially adapt from it to the eSingapore Military. It wont interfear with my duties as Minister of Defense and I've made sure to clear it with the eUS TC that I will be the MoD of eSingapore while going through their training. I'll apply for an Honorable Discharge after completing the program.

After training, I will come back to eSingapore and re-gain Citizenship. From there, I dont have a clue what I will do. I might run for congress again, I might just stay as MoD and travel the eWorld and fight in the different wars going on, proudly wearing my Torchwood Avatar. That part I have not decided yet.

eSingapore is my home and always will be. I will never abandon it or see it defenseless. My leave is a temporary one just to go through a process of training.

Anyway eSingapore, That is the final Entry for the [Gov] section of my newspaper.

It has truly been an honor being the President of eSingapore and I thank all those who have served on my cabinet or who have cared enough to get active and participate in our nation.
