[Glove] Aquitane, The World & Where We Stand, My Opinion

Gentleman, and you lovely ladies,

It is time to tighten up.

Lets recap on some important events.

We lost Aquitane.

We lost our 100% bonuses.

The loss of Aquitane is a critical blow to our economic empire, as we will now be manufacturing less weapons and will probably lose a significant portion of our population. This is bad, because there are a lot of TEDEN players that used USA for their base of operations.

Brozil left Terra.

Now lets look at the map.



Croatia barely hanging in there.

Turkey only has one region.

France only has one region.

Bulgaria and Romania have a NAP.

Italy still wiped.

United Kingdom almost has all its regions back.

Spain is nearly whole.

BUT WE OK.

Ok not really, we’re looking at a rough time for the next few weeks, if you want to be a optimist, well screw you, I’m not, I’m a realist. Poland will probably continue advancing on us and unless we start changing our strategy or spice things up a bit, its going to be bad.

Oh and Indonesia is in South America and is our fighting our Brozil.



What I think we should do:

1) Leave Terra.

And not because we lost Aquitane, we had some allied support and this isn’t related for my rationale for leaving, as I’ve been advocating leaving for quite some time now.

I have already given my opinion on this extensively. Don’t get me wrong, I love every member of Terra and don’t have any problem with any of them, but HQ has failed too much and the loss Brazil makes the alliance appear to be weightless. Israel Stevens and a few others think it is still salvageable, but it is not. Brazil will not rejoin, I can’t think of any nation in the history of eRepublik that has ever officially rejoined an alliance after leaving it. And Terra does not look like an attractive alliance at this point for any new nations to join, its too unstable and its history does not reflect well upon it.

So I will try to give you some of the pros and cons I thought of for leaving:

Pros:
1) We will no longer be bound to the decision the alliance makes.
2) We will no longer be working with the same stagnant HQ.
3) We will have the possibility to retain our good relations with Terra members, and the potential to have new relations with other nations.



Cons:
1) We make Terra look bad, possibly leading to the dissolution of Terra completely considering Brozil and USA (two strongest members) are gone.
2) Terra HQ may no longer want to aid us, a possibility we have to accept, this is not a problem if the alliance dissolves though.

My opinion:

It is of my humble opinion that our relationship with our allies should never be simply be based on simply occupying the same alliance. It should be based on words, affection, on acts of goodwill, and on mutual respect from both nations. By leaving we send a message to the world that the American people are fed up with the status quo and are looking for a change. By leaving we put ourselves in a position that will either benefit us or severely screw us over. But looking at how we’re doing on the battlefield and internally, it is a risk I’m willing to take. At the very least it will shake things up. Maybe this idea of leaving will backfire on us, but I have seen no attempt by the Executive to fix the Terra problem, and I believe it is beyond repair anyways, so we might as well leave and perhaps we will discover that we are better off without the alliance.

Hence like I mentioned earlier, I hold no ill feeling towards any member of Terra, as I have lots of respect for each of them and hope that feeling is mutual. It is also my hope that we may continue working together if ultimately we do leave the alliance, considering we appreciate everything that Terra has done for us and we consider every member, bro.
