Autumn Disorder

I found myself swept
again near the autumn coast
restive and weary

Fermenting leaves' sweet
odor painted so dreary
upon salted breeze

Pondering within
that cove above storm roil'd seas
I opened my eyes

Seeing the earth slip
from my feet into the skies
gave me no true pause

But on seeing all
their wistful patterns I lost
control and then wept
