Veruvia: For ESO Party President

I'm Veruvia. I joined eRepublik and eUK on day 1,365 (August 16th 2011) and have since gone on to become a proud member of the Every Single One community. I believe I have proven myself in a number of different roles including as the former Under-Minister of Home Affairs and the current Member of Parliament for London. I know now that I am prepared for the next challenge. I believe I can lead Every Single One in its first steps towards making itself a landmark of national parties.

The principles that underline Every Single One are the principles that underline my personal political beliefs. Individualism is a feature of this party. Having an opinion is not shunned but rather it's rewarded. Part of what I want to introduce into Every Single One is regular discussions on the direction of the party. Rather than being bound by a constitution, I want to be bound by the will of the party members.

Being an individual does not mean being separate from the ideas and beliefs of a single party. What it means is being prepared to step up and state when you don't agree with an idea. What it means is arguing your position, being prepared to defend your ideas. Every Single One has been a conglomerate of individual personalities and I'm proud to be a part of that.

The strength of Every Single One has always been in its dedication not to party politics but to national politics. I'm proud that previous presidents have introduced national drives and schemes that ensure that the nation benefits, rather than the party benefiting. It's this idea of a “party for the nation” rather than a “party for itself” that is a key part of my ideology. It's what I want to continue if I am elected as party president.

The third and perhaps final part of Every Single One is in the effort and value that each of the party members places in us as a unit. Legion is a prime example of how dedication, commitment and quick but intelligent thinking can prove itself as a success. Legion is one of the greatest strengths of the party because it unites us not only as a party but as individuals. It's not about the party benefiting but about benefiting and helping individuals from all walks of life. We don't distinguish between Every Single One and The Unity Party.

These three ideas and principles make up what has been a key part of my campaigns in different offices. I believe that this puts me in good stead to become the next party president of Every Single One. If you elect me, you'll see me following these beliefs from day one.

Detailed below are four ideas that I want to implement in the time that I am party president. I'm proud to say that the party has always been a leader in the changing dynamics of how parties operate – Legion being a principle example of this – and I want to continue that changing dynamic. I want to drive the party forward to a place where the next party president can implement their own ideas and continue a trend.

Two national charity drives

At the beginning of the term, within the first week, we will be running the first of two national charity drives. The first will be focused exclusively on food, offering 300 wellness to any person to requests it. I've estimated that, if forty people request it, that's 1,200 Q5 food. At the end of the term, we will be running a second national charity drive which will offer Q5 weapons to those who request it. I haven't decided yet what those figures will be but it will be done in conjunction with Daeres and Emergy Maxfell, both of whom have had experience in this form of charity.

Legion – How it Operate

You might call me a sceptic about Legion. Search for posts about Legion in the forums and you'll find me criticising it at every turn and yet I've found myself being more and more convinced by it. With that in mind, I don't want to intrude on the efforts of those running in. I do want to see the economic benefits of Legion become more prominent and I would urge all those in “command” positions, jamesw, Roz, Rawdon and Justice Boomticket, to be writing articles and highlighting that this is not a standard party military unit. This is a form of training.

Congress – From Five to Seven

The original number elected to the office of Congress last month was five (but it changed when people switched parties). With that in mind, I want to increase number of people we elect to Congress increase from five to seven. How do we do that? In part, it's the law of numbers – increase recruitment efforts, increase the number of members, increase the number of votes. It's a very simple process. In part, it's about old blood with new blood. We have to help out new members run for Congress with assistance about manifestos, mass messaging, friending, etc. Have them helped by the old blood that's running.

Recruitment Efforts

No campaign is complete without a discussion on recruitment efforts. All the major parties have dropped the standards on mass messaging. I want to change that trend. We've seen both Roz and Mittekemuis do an excellent job in friending people and mass messaging. I want to see that continue. The nature of Every Single One is that we tend not to “urge” people to join. I don't want to change that but I do want to be able to convince members of the benefits of Every Single One, ranging from our military unit to our friendliness. I'll be working with everyone who's interested in helping increase our recruitment efforts to get the name of Every Single One out there.
